Every 3 hours still?

Why are my babies still eating every 3 hours? It makes it so hard to do anything outside the house. Is there any way to stretch out the time in between and give them bigger bottles? This is killing me.

We were at 3 hours until 8 months old! I know how you feel! Their little tummies just weren't big enough until then. :hug99:

At 2 months we went to every 4 hours and at 6 months we dropped down to 3 bottles a day. It was what they wanted. I just followed their lead!

We are still at 3hrs too. I was hoping it would go to 4 by now but no. Plus I have one that will only take 2-3 ozs right now cause she throws up....blah!!!! She is going to the pedi hopefully tomorrow.

I was hoping that adding solids would stretch it out, but it hasn't at all. I guess I should just be grateful that they are sleeping through the night, huh?!

Since we started solids I feel like we are eating every 2 hours. We have 12 hours to get in 4 bottles and 2 solids meals, it's craziness!!!

Mine still eat every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. DS is breastfed and DD is bottle formula fed. I have tried increasing her feedings adding another meal but nope she won't go any longer than 2 hours w/o eating.

When mine were that age, they ate every three hours, around the clock.... I thought I was going to loose my mind!!
It did slow down, Im not sure when, but it did, and it will for you too! Just hang in there. :hug99:

Mine ate 4 oz bottles (or bf) every 3 hours at that age...5 hour stretch at night. At 6.5 to 7 months I moved up to 6 oz bottles every 4 hours.

Like you asked...I made bigger bottles and stretched an hour. No way to know if they'll do it unless you try. I though for sure mine wouldn't take a 6 oz bottle and at first they didn't but they started to. I started with the time they were hungriest to up their bottle to 6 oz which for my boys was the midmorning bottle (kept the early morning bottle at 4 oz) and then waited 4 hours and they were doing fine and offered the next 6 oz bottles and so on. I just watched to make sure they weren't acting hungry...if they had I would have offered sooner and had they not taken more than the 4 oz I would have fed sooner too.

A talmost 8 months I feel like I'm still feeding mine every two to three hours! Being home with them all day, I tend to just nurse on demand or when they get upset so there's rarely a "scheduled" interval of time between feedings. Here's to hoping it gets better for both of us!

:hug99: I know what you mean! I thought I was going to be crazy. Even now, they only sleep 5-6 hours before they wake up. Since mine were small, I wanted them to get as many calories as possible, so I didn't try to put a stop to it really. But it is difficult.

I feel the same way - mine are six months today and are eating every 3 hours. I tried moving mine to 4 hours and 5 oz, but they just kept spitting up most of their bottle so then I was doing 4 oz every 4 hours. Unfortunately then they only gained 3 ounces that month so now we are back to 4 oz every 3 hours. But they do sleep from their last bottle around 10 or 11 until 6 or 7 in the morning so I shouldn't complain too much. We haven't started solids but I think we will after our 6 month check up on Friday and I am wondering how I am going to fit solids in between their bottles. They will be eating non stop for heaven's sake. Guess we'll just figure it out.
