Ethan and Ella are Here!

Hi everyone,

So after all my drama this past week, my babies were born on Friday night.

At about 5:30PM on Friday (exactly 38 weeks) my water broke while I was watching TV with DH. We went into L&D and at 6:15PM I was only 2CM dilated. At about 7:30 (still no contractions), DH left to put our son to bed and came back at 9:30 while I was having awful contractions and on the toilet. I told him to get the nurse as I wanted to be checked and my epidural! The nurse came in at 9:45PM and I was 4CM, she called the anesthesiologist and my OB. Less than 20 minutes later they took me into the delivery room and was getting ready for my drugs..... I was in excruciating pain and told the nurse I had the urge to push! She checked me again and I was 8CM - good by epidural.....

The contractions were coming so fast and strong now and I HAD TO PUSH. Told the nurse and she lifted up the sheet and there was Ethan's head - she started to panic as did DH (OB was still not there). Next thing I know, OB came flying through the door in his very expensive suit, threw on gloves and delivered Ethan at 10:35PM! That was the biggest feeling of relief ever. He weighed 7lbs 7ozs. Ella was born at 10:41PM and weighed 7lbs 5ozs! They were both perfectly healthy and beautiful! Apgars were 9, 10 & 10 for both. They started nursing soon after and then came into my room with me. We all came home this afternoon (only 36 hours later) and we couldn't be happier!

So to just recap - Both babies were delivered vaginally at 38 weeks. NO DRUGS and I do not recommend it! 7lbs 7ozs and 7lbs 5ozs - not sure where those big babies were hiding as I was only measuring 43 weeks! Only took 45 mins from 4CM dialated to the first baby being born! And they are perfect in every way!

I know I was moaning to get them out from 36 weeks, but I am so happy that I made it to 38 weeks. It was so worth the wait and the pain.
