ob stripped my membranes yesterday, was having ctrx all day, went to L&D thought water broke, said i was 3-4cm, contracting regularly, went home because water not broken and i didnt want to stay if i didnt have to, had ctrx for a few hours, seemed to be getting worse, went to sleep, woke up and they have all but disappeared. i dont get it!!! i had all the labor signs, ctrx, dilation, gastrointestinal distress, how could that all be false?? and 3-4cm? you cant just walk around like that forever right? ugh!

With the twins I walked around at 3 - 4 for 5 days. At 36 weeks I was 3 - 4 cm, and the girls were born at 36 weeks 5 days.

I hope you go into labor soon.

 it's very common with second pregnancies to have periods of strong contractions that appear to be active labor only to level out & not develop on. just remember - you are in labor! it isn't false labor, it's just still early labor. all those contractions are accomplishing changes in your cervix & uterus to bring on active labor & are productive. i expect it won't be long now. if you feel up to it, now would be a good time to go for some brisk walks to help things along.

I am sorry you are going through this. Probably not what you want to hear, but I was dilated 3 and having contractions for 3 weeks. It wasn't until doc stripped my membranes that my water broke within 12 hours, and baby came shortly after. Not sure if you know this, but stripping membranes doesn't always work the first time. I had a friend who went back every couple of days to get it done. It worked the 3rd or 4th time. Good luck - hope you have some relief soon! :)

Hoping you've had baby by now:) I was in "early labor" and 3cm the day before I had Hannah. I went in the next day approx 31hrs later and was 8cm...I had her 4 hours later:) My contrax stopped when I got home the day before but I took a walk, chased the kids on my hands and knees, sat on a ball, ate some spicy pizza and wings, and had sex LMAO!!! Something worked to keep it going!!
