YOU!! :) I did a lot of singing and reading to them at this point. I would give them rattles and things that light up which they loved.

I used the floor gym and also began putting them in the exersaucer around that time.

I love using the toy "kick - n- drive" gym from Fisher Price - I think - at this age. I bought it when I was pregnant with my first - that was over five years ago - YIKES - but I just bought it for a shower gift last year. The babies barely have to touch the bottom of the toy to make it work. They did sell it at Babies R Us last year. All my babies have loved it - I started to use it around 6weeks!

My son was in LOVE with the Caboodle Cube from Discovery Toys. He still plays with it all the time!

When they were 3 mos I used the floor mat and a jumperoo. They are 7 mos old now and still love the jumperoo and the floor mat (though not as much as the jumperoo). They hated swings and bouncy seats. It was terrible.

Yes! Make faces, make noises, talk, sing songs, do body movement games like pattycake, "bicycle" their legs...

What is an exersauser?, Baby Einstein has jumpers and a seated round shaped toy for them to sit in.

My guys enjoyed their activity mat at that time (the Fisher Price Rain Forest one) and that's when I started reading them stories. They also loved to sit in their bouncy chairs and watch me do stuff around the house (loading the dishwasher, baking a cake, ironing, etc.). They also liked to stare at their mobile in the cribs. We didn't start with the Jolly Jumper, exersaucer, etc. until they were 4.5 months.

    O K not to go off track....but
Bake a cake!!!! wow do I feel inferior.....lol CHJH, you are somethin'

    now on topic

I found a great little tummy time blow up froggie pond thingy at wal mart for $6 or $7 that really kept them on their tummies for quite some time. It was a so cute and entertaining. Even Amy who disliked( still does) tummy time couldn't resist it.

It is made by munckin. I was glad to find something that would keep Amy on her tummy.

I started the exersaucer later than I would have liked. I think I could have begun earlier//staying right there with them of course.
Mine liked the floor gym with the mirroe above it the most.

I have fraternal G/G twins, but these are some things they seemed to enjoy at that age:
-mobile (I would lay them on their backs in the same crib and play the mobile with music for 5-10 minutes)
-swing (ours has a mobile... I would alternate between the swing and bouncy seat)
-carseat with toys attached to the bar
-a rattle (ours were starting to grasp things at this point...so that opens up a whole new world to the baby as far as entertainment goes once they can do that)
    -walks in the stroller
-doing chores with mama (I would sit them in either a car seat, Bumbo chair, a bouncy seat or a snugli and they would watch me unload dishes, do laundry, whatever. They seemed to be entertained by this as long as I paid attention to them at the same time, i.e. talking to them, singing to them or stopping to smile at them every minute or two)
-chewing on a pacifier... at about this point, mine were starting to teethe, so they wanted something in their hands constantly.. it seemed like it didn't matter what they were doing as long as they could hold something
    - a bath (I would turn on the radio and lay one on the floor on a towel while I bathed the other, then I would switch them. it was faster for me to have two towels laid out and a basket of toiletries on the bathroom floor before I started. That way, i wouldn't have to leave them to get a diaper, washcloth, etc.)

For me personally, this time period was kind of mundane entertainment-wise. They couldn't do a whole lot and it seemed like they were bored... although it was probably just me who was bored with doing the same things over and over. Nursing took up most of my day at that point. Now that they are almost 8 months old and one is crawing, it is much more interesting.

Anyhow, hope that answers your question:)

LOL - that's exactly what we do!!! We're constantly singing to the babies, and not just baby songs - they are already huge U2 and DMB fans! They also have a baby einstein floor mat that they are just starting to show interest in and tons of rattles and pacifiers that they like - really anything that makes noise is a winner in our house.

my 4.5 month old girls LOVE their tiny love gymini...it's a colorful floor mat w/place to hang lots of soft toys and beads....they will self-entertain for up to 20 minutes (which feels like an eternity these days)

I also sing to them constantly; sometimes put both in bouncy seats next ot each other and dance and sing to them w/rattles in my and their hands....interacting, making lots of eye contact and touching them

They started to like eensie weensy spider and patty cake at the age yours are. Mostly they love to be looked at and engaged with - and you'll see a big differnece in the next few weeks, it gets even better!
