SO I picked up some Ensure yesterday. And can I say, it taste like chalk. :( I got wild berry. It taste like that stuff you have to drink before a cat scan. I wanted something high in protein, is there anything else, that doesn't taste like this. I'll chug it if I have to, but I'm afraid that it will come right back up.

I bought strawberry Ensure and I kind of like it. It's best poured over crushed ice which helps thin it a little. I've got high protein chocolate Boost too. That's pretty good.

I think the ensure homemade vanilla milk shake taste the best. Try it. All the other flavors taste disgusting.

I liked the milk chocolate Ensure. Didn't taste chalky to me. Didn't try the other flavors...

I have had both the strawberrry and vanilla Boost products. They are quite good if you ask me. I have not tried any of the others to compare though.

I only like the chocolate flavor but have to make sure it is ice cold when I drink it.

Try the chocolate, it's actually not that bad. :)

Oh and someone else mentioned this-it's better cold.

I tried both Ensure and Boost when I was pregnant with the twinks. I hated the taste of both!! And the sugar content in those are super high and I wonder why a dr. would recommend them because of it. About 20 minutes after I would drink it, the babies would get really active, like a sugar rush. I switched to high protein drinks that I could buy from a health food store, health section at a grocery store or over the internet. Oftentimes at health food stores they have one serving packages of different brands/flavors so that you can try them. They have some sugar in them, but not nearly as much as Boost or Ensure. Something to consider...

Boost is MUCH better than ensure! Like the pp said it is better cold, very cold. I always drank it with a straw, not sure but the straw made it better.

I get the chocolate one and pour half of it over ice and add milk the rest of the way so it isnt so sweet. So I get 2 servings out of 1.

I got Boost this time. I bought Ensure for something else and would not drink it again. Boost in chocolate is especially good.

I've never had the berry but I actually really like Ensure's vanilla, strawberry and butter pecan. But I agree, they definately need to be cold!!

I drank Ensure Vanilla and Boost Vanilla. Ensure was the better tasting, but I think that the Boost was slightly higher in protein.

I actually liked the chocolate ones, especially very cold. But I also ate a lot of Luna bars, protein bars etc. They're not much more expensive, and pack a good dose of protein. I also ate a lot of South Beach diet frozen meals as snacks -- they're pretty good and also high in protein.
