Very sad week for us - we had to put down the dog I had before I ever got married... Miss Josie, a rescued cocker spaniel. She was amazing and loving - I have never met a sweeter dog.

In the midst of all of those decisions this week, I had two insect bites become infected (painful, swollen, red/blue/black) - had to go to the doctor for more medicines (as if Zofran, Colace, Iron, pre-natal vitamins and pepcid are not enough - I worry every day about what these babies are getting from me) and cream - with strict orders to watch the bites closely, because it wouldn't take long for bad side effects if the infection goes in the "wrong" direction. Trying to avoid any worries of staph infections... Something about a weakened immune system can enable even something simple like a bug bite get infected... who knew...

The past 32 weeks kicked off with extreme sickness and has progressed to external thrombosed hemorrhoids, contractions and everything else. And now Josie is not here. I know that God doesn't give us more than we can handle, but this morning at the vet, I just felt like enough is enough!

I know I am lucky to have made it to 32 weeks without PTL or other issues. I also know I am just being selfish right now - I really just want a break... to give me the time to get excited about the twins on the way.

Awww, you poor thing. So sorry to hear about your dear Josie. I'm sure it must be really tough to lose her given everything else that you are going through. You have every right to feel down and to wallow a bit if you want. There is nothing selfish about any of the things you are feeling.

Take care of yourself and those nasty bites. Hope you feel better soon and glad to hear that the babies are doing well.

I am sorry to hear about all that, but on another note, are the doctors SURE that they are bug bites and not Stapf?

Staph is comminly mis-diagnosed as a bug bite. I have dealt with it a few times, and even once I had it in my arm pit and the Dr. tried to tell me it was a bug bite...I knew it wasn't. A few guys had gotten it in the gym before...and pretty bad cases. Needless to say I had them cut me...not try to have anti-biotics try to help cure it. They cut me and I didn't find out until later that the anti-biotics they WANTED to give me for it would have done nothing against that particular strain of Staph.

Just a thought...maybe if it gets worse...see about getting it cut out and packed (I'm not saying it IS staph...just a thought). I didn't take any anti-biotics when they cut me, but it did suck having to re-pack it everyday with fresh gauze.

Hope things get better...hang in there...

 So sorry to hear about your rough week! Our dog passed away the day before i ended up in the hospital and it just doesnt help anything one bit. I pray your bug bites get better and you have an uneventful next few weeks. Sounds like you need a nice long massage and some pampering to help destress.

You poor thing. We are all supporting you and you can do it - just one day or week at a time and this period will be behind you, years later it will all seem like a blur. You can do it, just be strong for your kiddos!
