Sorry this topic is all I can think about right now!

After a long period of partying in the cribs during every naptime, I opted to move to one nap. Beyond the actual naptime, the boys are doing beautifully. They've transitioned well as far as not being super crabby in the AM, etc. Occassionally, they will sleep in super late but that is rare. So, here is what a brief glimpse looks like:

    7 or 730 Wake up
    1145 Lunch
    1215/1230ish Down for nap
    730/800 Bedtime

Fine, except they will NOT sleep longer than 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. It's making me a little crazy. For the most part, they aren't out of control tired at night (although sometimes, well, watch out!). I don't know what to do. I need more of a break and they need more sleep. I would be SO content with 2 hours.

This week (end of week #2 of one nap), I've been making them stay in their cribs for 2 hours regardless of sleep, cry or play. All my friends responses are this, "really? When we went to one nap, (child's name) immediately started sleeping 3-4 hours." WHAT???

I guess I am feeling a little crazed...I know we can't go back to 2 naps b/c that wasn't working but is this my future????? I'm trying hard to not get worked up over this and just relax but seriously, they are up right now and it's only been one hour!!!!!

That is a problem we have here when we do the 1 nap thing. We've been going back and forth b/c nothing works consistently and they are teething now ( cutting 8 molars!) and so I need the break!! DD has not gone to sleep yet, but DS went to sleep immediately. I laid them down at 2:50...when we got home from errands/dr appt...
This subject absolutely wears me the hell out! For real...just do it already right!!!???? My sister said the same about her girls....but not here. ANd the weird thing is, mine are pretty big sleepers, so I just don't get it..If we do the 1 nap, they want to go to bed at 530 or 6 pm!!!! Crazy and just not happening. DH isn't even home from work by then! ( our usual bedtime is 730)....I hope someone has answers

You and me both!!! I'm cracking up about this topic wearing the hell out of you b/c I am right there with you. My sister has twin girls that are 5 months younger than the boys and they already take 1 nap and it is at least a 3-hour bender every time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Help us, help us, help us!!!

By the way, the kiddos have always been great sleepers and nappers prior to this moment in time.

Just killing time while waiting for the d@mn 2 hour limit to be over.

Its an adjustment period. They will stretch out. You just have to be a little patient. :( sorry to say
