I am thinking it would probably be wise to have some sort of emergency bag in the car. We don’t get a ton of bad weather here, but occasionally a snow storm will come in the middle of the day and traffic turns into a disaster and it can take people several hours to get home and our daycare is quite a drive from our home. So with all that in mind I am looking for ideas of what should be in our survival bag – even if surviving means just not listening to screaming kids for 3 + hours. Here is what I can come up with off the top of my head, please let me know what I am missing.
    Bottles of water
    Snacks
    Binkies
    Blankets
    Coats
    Socks
    Toys
    Diapers
    Wipes

This is a GREAT idea. I did this recently too. I put a plastic bin in my trunk. I have the items that you mention above plus I put:

**a plastic bag -- recently had a barfing situation in the car and I am so happy I had a bag in the car to put dirty clothes into.
    ***snacks for me too!

This is a really good idea. I would also suggest maybe some little toys or books that you can keep in the car to keep them occupied.

another thought came to mind...maybe a $20 bill. Reason why -- I know I always use my debit card and you never know when you may need cash only.

A hand-crank LED flashlight and a hand-crank radio. A quick search online turned up one that does BOTH.

This might come in handy for weather updates, and for being able to see what else is in your emergency bag if it's dark. ;)

what a great idea, i should do something like that too... i would probably put some of those little horizon milk boxes in there, i think they only come in 2%, but it would work in a pinch...

Great idea! I think you have a pretty good list! I agree with the flashlight and plastic bag and also a change of clothes, just in case.
