Embarrassing Question

My girls are 22 months old and one of them constantly wants to have her hands in her diaper. If she doesn't have her diaper on, she has her hand in her butt crack or her girly area. :blush: I know she is starting to find these things, but she will sit and watch TV digging. Do you think it itches? I haven't seen a rash. How much is too much??

I have no advise - my boys do the same thing. Actually, they have a habit of pulling it up and end up peeing on themselves :blush:

 

My DD does the same thing I am always telling her to take her hands out of her pants she just puts them in the top. Very strange it stops cause DD1 did the same thing.

 

it's normal, buit for girls it bothers me because if their fingers are dirty at all it can give them an infection.

 

My DD went through that at that age. My Ped said its totally normal and they are just exploring and she was usually doing it while watching TV. Now at 3.5 I still see her do it occasionally but not nearly as often. She never got an infection from it. Now with my boys at least I am prepared.

 

yup - she's not as bad as her brother but she does it too!

 

Both of our kiddoes did this too! Amanda has grown out of it but Aidan still likes to "play." As all of the PP's have mentioned, it is very normal. I remind my children not to play with themselves but it is a normal thing for kids to do.

 

You might try some lotrimin or whatever for girly parts. Ali tends to not wipe as well as she might need to and gets alittle irritated sometimes!!

 

Emilie does this at at times too.
