I was just curious how long after having you children were you still sore when having entercourse with your S/O ? My twins are almost 9 weeks and I am still so sore I will cry if DH want to try to have sex.......I had them naturally and did have an episiotomy but my OB said I was ok.....but I don't feel ok

I was shocked when the nurse came in and said that 'relations' could start in 3-4 weeks. I had a tear which had been stitched up. IF you are still hurting, then I would postpone it further and perhaps go in and get examined. Did you go in for your 6 week check up?
When you are ready, discuss your concerns with your dh, tell him that you feel sore and to take it gentle. Use lots of lube!!! But, don't do it before you are ready.

It took quite awhile. I dont remember how long.. But its was along the line of 2.5-3 months. (They stretched me and then had to cut to get baby b out fast..)

By 6wks you should be good to go. If you are having pain you need to tell your OB. For me I had a little extra tissue that stuck out from the incision and they were concerned that that could cause some discomfort. But like PP's you need to take it slow and use lots of lube!

at my 6 week check up the Dr said I was fina to resume relations and of course DH wanted to so we did and it hurt so we waited another week before trying again and it stll hurt so we waited almost 2 more weeks and it still hurts...I called my OB and they said don't worry give it 4 more weeks but I just was curious if anyone else had this problem

Wow we didn't even try until closer to 12 weeks and it was sore then, if it hurts I would hold off. Also using a ton of lube may help make it more comfortable and therefore pleasurable for you, I had to do that for quite awhile.

I don't think it is possible to give an exact time frame like that. Some people may be ready at 6 weeks and some may not. It is just so varied by person/delivery/pain tolerance etc etc. I definitely wasn't good to go at 6 weeks and there was nothing wrong, I just needed more time to heal. Like the others have said, give it a little more time, request S/O go easy and see how things go. If the doc says things look ok it is probably just a matter of needing a little more time and gradually working back up to it.

I'm just now starting to feel healed up at 11 weeks. Way longer than for my singleton vaginal delivery--my doctor said it was just because of carrying all that extra weight in there. He also said activity could help things heal up--sounded kind of like male wishful thinking to me, but maybe it's the increased blood flow? Anyway, I did think it helped heal faster even though it was quite sore for awhile. If it had been really painful I don't think the tradeoff would have been worth it, though.

I stopped being sore inside at about 16 weeks. It just took a while. It had nothing to do with tearing. It was like I felt bruised on the inside. I hope you feel better soon .

You are breastfeeding, right? So you naturally have less lubrication than when you aren't, so you need to use lots of lube. If that doesn't help, give it a few more weeks - some people take a bit longer to heal than others.

With my Dd it took about 6 weeks but with the twins I was ready to try at 3weeks and it didn't hurt at all (but I didn't have any tearing). I think it's different for everyone.

I was surprised when my OB gave us the go ahead at 5 weeks and I had a large internal tear that had to be stitched. Well we tried at 8 weeks and couldn't because it really hurt, tried again at 10 weeks still hurt, but not as bad, and so on. Well here we are at 4 months and it is still sore at first. I have to remind DH to go very slowly at first.

I thought things would be reversed and having twins would have stretched things out a bit, so we were surprised that it is almost like a virgin. I guess my OB tied those stitches tight, lol.

I had to wait 13w, but I didn't really have much desire, and still don't, at 8 months. I'm also still bf-ing, so I spend most days with a LO attached to me LOL!!

About 9 months I actually had to call my OB and tell her I was having trouble and it was the episiotomy that was bothering me. She gave me a steroid cream to use I think twice a day (I forget how long) and it helped alot I don't remember having any problems after that.

I had my babies 4 1/2 months ago and while it isn't so painful I won't do it, it is still painful and uncomfortable. My doctor said it could take up to 6 months until its normal again.

In still have a little pain. Now it's not too bad, but for a long time it hurt!! Lots of lube helped and I learned that certain positions just didn't feel good at all. I did not have an episiotomy, but I did tear a tiny bit and had like a stitch or 2. Lots of lube.

I´m going to be honest and say we still havent BD and it´s been 4 months. For a long while, I felt like I´d pushed out a truck and I also had an episotomy which healed really quickly. I´d say I´ve been ready for about 2-3 weeks but we haven´t yet due to the babies and just not getting any private time. My poor DH!!! He´s been great about it though.
