Hi all! I'm sure this has been asked a million times already, but I'm looking for ideas for my boy's 2nd b-day. We aren't have a big party this year -- just a few close friends (and their kids) and family in our backyard. I've decided on an Elmo theme for Jackson and Cookie Monster for Ethan. Cute balloons, cupcakes and their individual cakes, pizza, watermelon, etc. Something easy (I MADE MYSELF CRAZY with last year's party :)! I've even found an adorable shirt for Ethan that says "Got cookie?" with Cookie Monster next to it.

Any ideas on an invitation I can put their picture on? I ran down to the wire last year and ended up using the invites that matched their party set. I want to do something more personal this year. Any ideas on an easy little cute game to play?

Becky, I think you are doing an Elmo party this year? Any ideas :)?!?!?

    TIA

I had planned on Elmo and Cookie until my son turned into a Cars fanatic and my daughter to a 'pink' and 'flower' fanatic! I had already planned out their invitation wording but never got to use it! Here is what I came up with (feel free to think it's lame, or to use it if you don't think it's lame!)

    Elmo is Red
    Cookie Monster is Blue
_____ and ______ are turning TWO!
    Please come celebrate with us....
    bla bla bla

Oh, and vistaprint.com is a great place to create invitations and you can use their pictures.

    Have a great party!

I just did Elmo for E&E. I didn't do fancy invites but I did decorate their Elmo cake by myself.

We did "pin the nose on the Elmo." They sell them at party stores, but you could also pretty easily make one.

We just recently had our Sesame Street 2nd birthday party. We bought the boys Cookie Monster t-shirts, gave out Sesame Street colouring books and stickers in the loot bags, got Sesame Street party supplies from the party store and decorated cakes and cupcakes into the Sesame characters (I've attached some pics of the cakes and cupcakes).
Have a lot of fun planning your party! :D

Ladies, thanks so much for the great ideas! Jenny, your saying isn't lame at all! I was working on something like that after I posted my question :D !

I love the cake and cupcakes! I'm doing the cookie monster and elmo cupcakes but I'm not talented enough to do the cookie monster cakes. VERY CUTE though!

Becky, if you sent a PM, it hasn't come through -- I'm not sure the PMs are working for me. I'll have to check my settings!

    Thanks again!
