I have seen a few recos for Ellyn Sater books, and our feeding therapist also recommended them. Which book should I start with? Looks like Child of Mine - anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I really liked Child of Mine. I don't agree with everything she says 100%, but she gives you a great perspective on feeding, and it really helped me get over my fears of my boys not gaining "enough". She also has a website that has excellent tips and recommendations. I go on there every once in a while to reassure myself, and reinforce her ideas in my head.

I would look over her website to get an idea of what she's about, and you may find another one of her books applies more to your concerns. Child of Mine is probably 1/2 about breastfeeding/bottlefeeding; you can skip it, but I read it to get the Big Picture about her methods. Be warned: She does toot her own horn a bit, but from what I can tell, it's well-earned. :)

I also wanted to add that if I were to buy another book by her, I'd get Secrets of Feeding a Healthy Family. It looks like it's got really good advice for feeding the entire family.

I agree with the previous posts. I read child of mine and it helpped me figure out how to feed my girls. I have a constant fear of inadvertantly imposing an eating disorder on them that I wanted to see a method on how to go about feeding with out anxiety. It actually has helpped me eat better. For instance eating breakfast and lunch with them instead of not eating or just having a bite of something. So they realize that Mom eats too:)
