I tend to opt for more natural sorts of products, and have heard a lot of moms who have struggled with eczema rave about this product. It is homemade, and I have used lots of their other products and been very satistifed:

I think unscented might be best for a little one, but of course that part is your call.

Good luck-- we aren't dealing with eczema but Jacob has some other skin issues and they are endlessly frustrating. Good luck!!

Luke has ezcema and we've found using unscented soaps and lotions have been helpful, especially the Burt Bees line. We have also used the J&J naturals and the Aveeno one too and those worked OK, Burts Bees seemed to work best for Luke. When Luke gets the red spots, we have found both Vaseline and Aquaphor equally helpful.

Aiden's eczema was worse last year, but we have continued with the same treatment this year during his flare ups. I use the Aveeno bath & lotion (there's one specifically designed for eczema) and then Triamcinolone cream (prescription) to the extreme trouble spots. Always seemed/seems to work for us....

All of my kids are severe eczema kids. When it gets really bad we apply some prescription steroid cream. But, before it gets that bad, we can usually control it with a thing called Vanicream. I have tried all of the suggested remedies...aquaphor, vaseline, eucerin, etc. But, for my kids, Vanicream works the very best. You have to get it behind the counter at the pharmacy..but it's nonprescription.

We use Cetaphil cream (the thicker kind in the tub) or Eucerin calming cream. On bad spots, I do put Aquaphor, but regular Vaseline works in a pinch, too.

But, what works best is to avoid any kind of soap or shampoo that has sodium lauryl sulfate or any sort of fragrance in it....even if I skip any wash/soap and use regular shampoo, it still gets on the skin when I rinse it out, and causes problems. I recently tried Cetaphil skin cleanser again, which is very mild and works great for Nadia's skin -- but nope, after a few days of use, Kevan broke out all over his legs. Same thing happens with Dove soap.

So, if I stick to only California Baby shampoo/wash -- the completely fragrance-free kind -- and just use a tiny bit in their hair and on their bodies, and then do the Cetaphil cream everywhere, the eczema generally stays away.

Weleda Skin Food works well in our house for eczema flare ups. If it gets really bad we use the prescription cream from the pediatrician. Other things that have make a difference for eczema: eliminate all fragrance products (soap, laundry detergent, conditioner, lotions, etc.). Also, don't use dryer sheets. And sometimes, synthetic clothing can cause flareups, so we only buy cotton or wool clothes.

    Good luck!

We use California Baby Sensitive Skin bath wash/shampoo and lotion for every day use and the Calendula Cream that they make for their really awful dry spots. I swear by it!

my dd only has mild flare ups so i don't have to use anything too strong. i use the wal-mart brand of baby wash then put some eucerin cream on her after the bath. it takes a couple days, but it eventually goes away.

M has wicked eczema, I use all fragrance free stuff on her, Aveeno soap and lotion, or sometimes I use my Dove on her.

The best things to do is minimal short luke warm baths, too hot will irritate it, lube her up good with lotion the do a coat of vaseline or aquaphor, and lube her up a few times a day.
Occasionally if it gets particularly bad I will put some hydrocortizone cream on the bad spots but only as a last resort.

    Hope it clears up soon!

We use aquaphor and works pretty darn good :) For washing we use the Aveno wash.

Aquaphor is what we've found to work the best and we've tried everything. Apply a few times a day.
Also short lukewarm baths once a day for about 20 min are best and don't scrub but pat dry. Actually it's best to apply the lotion when they are still a bit damp to lock in moisture. Also, hydrocortisone when there is a really bad patch.
I also set the wash on a extra rinse cycle with the clothes and sheets.
Good luck, eczema is such a pain!

My son has eczema also. The pediatrician gave him some hydrocortisone cream and it cleared up right away. Now I only put it on when he has a flair up.

We use the Aveeno wash and Eucerin cream (in the tub). We also use dye free/perfume free bubbles. That seems to work great for us.
