DD's each "gnaw" on their fist. They are 15 weeks and I am not sure but maybe they are teething?

Also one DD sticks her fingers in her throat until she gags...

    anyone encounter this?

Oh yes. We LOVE our fists. They started doing it about a month ago. They will freak out trying to get their hands in their mouths. They drool all over and make slurping noises. We get a kick out of watching them do it while they are sleeping. I think it is perfectly normal. I am not sure if it has anything to do with teething.

Not only do Colin and Gavin eat their own fists, but they eat each other's when they get the chance. LOL

    They also "hold hands" ocassionally.

    And grab each others feet...

    And pet each other's heads!

They are an endless source of amusement for us. Colin got his first teeth on 12/15, which would have been about 18 weeks. Gavin followed around Christmas. So don't be surprised if the drooly teething phase is beginning. ::grins::

Ditto here! One of my girls started munching on her fist around 3 mos. and constantly has her hands in her mouth and constantly makes herself spitup from sticking her fingers down her throat (yikes!). My other daughter started sucking a couple of weeks later and only does it occasionally (she prefers a pacifier). The one who gags herself also started "sucking" her thumb at bedtime. She puts both hands over her face and gnaws on one thumb until she falls asleep. So, you are definitely not alone!! [IMG]
They are also constantly drooling a ton and have been for a while so we're hoping for teeth soon...nothing yet!

My dd Arwen also used to do that. I couldn't believe that she could actually get her entire chubby little hand in there. She also used to do the gagging thing. It used to freak me out. She acutally just stopped doing it a few weeks ago. She even made herself puke a couple of times. I couldn't stand the sound it would make. She sounded like a buelemic (sp?). At 4 months old the doctor said she was possibly teething but she still has no teeth!! So, to answer your question, yes, we've encountered that.

Not only do they eat their fists, they eat each other fists, toes, heads, arms and just about anything they can get a hold of! They love to eat anything. Jacks new one is trying to shove a whole rattle in his mouth at one time. He also grabs Sophies toes in the bath and tries to munch on them! So yes lots of fist munching here! x
