Eating strike!

Any of your 23month olds go on an eating strike? My daughter has actually been eating pretty well. My son...most of the time won't eat anything but green beans on his plate and fruit. Getting him to eat meat, mac n' cheese, even grilled cheese and his regular black beans isn't working and I feel like he is missing out on some needed vitamins. Anyone go through this? Suggestions?

 

OMG - we're not yet 23 months but we are going through this. It's so stressful! I could give my girls bananas and cantaloupe for three meals a day and they would be happy.

I have started making things I know they will most likely eat, which is certainly not much! If they refuse, they get dry Cheerios. A friend said she buys the multigrain Cheerios so I've started giving them those.

Just the other day, Emma had about 5 handfuls of Cheerios in place of lunch and dinner! :crazy:

 

My boys will be 4 next month and havent eaten a whole meal in about a year. I have no idea how to get them to eat. One day they will LOVE a certain food .. 2 days later wont even give it a second look.
The one thing they will almost eat alot of is pasta .. so last week i got some regular macaroni and some Ragu cheese sauce and made a big batch of mac & cheese which they actually ate. I was so relieved, but now I wonder if they'll eat it this week .. we'll see.

 

I have found that Pat will NOT eat dinner unless its pasta. and Kevin will not eat pasta!

It's a phase. Do your best to get what you care into them. John started eating better by 4. :hug99:
