I have been buying my girls these earrings from my local Sally's but one of my girls who shall remain unnamed is very difficult and won't let me put new earrings in. I also tried to re-order the medical plastic daisy earrings that they'd been pierced with, but the backs were not the snap on kind like earrings for piercing, and literally within 1 car ride we lost an earring.

I tried to put in the Sally earrings this morning to show my difficult child how much mommy likes to wear earrings and OUCH! I couldn't keep it in my ear it hurt so bad. So I am looking for any suggestions for earrings that the backs do not come off easily for my 2 year olds. They have to be earrings that are good enough quality to be left in all the time because my child will not let me change them very often.

at Claire's they sell the dome snap on earring backs that you can use on any earring...I had to buy a pack for Abby because she loses the clutch backs all the time...they also sell a rubber stopper that you can put on the end of the earring AFTER you put the clutch back on to keep the back on....

I didn't know they sold the snap on backs for regular earrings! Thanks for the info I will have to go to Claire's.

I have some clear rubber backs -- I think I got them at Claire's -- that I just use with my girls' regular 14K gold stud earrings. They fit on very tightly, so they don't fall off.Piercing Pagoda used to sell these awesome closed backs, which also fit very tightly -- but the last set I bought there weren't as good. And then our local kiosk closed, so I haven't been back there.Barring that, I've used small gold hoops on them, the kind that are hollow with the little wire that goes into the hole -- not sure I'm making sense. My mom got them in India, but they're probably available somewhere here. They're a total PITA to put in and remove, but I've left them in for six months at a time with no issues.

I buy the cheapie studs that are like $5 for a card of 10 pairs from Wal-Mart. Then I buy the clear rubber stoppers (also from Wal-Mart) and put those in the girls' ears. They've had them pierced since they were 5 months, and I've changed them all of 4 times. They just turned 3 last week.

I twist them and clean them a few times a week, but now that they're taking more frequent baths and are getting better at washin themselves and play in the water a lot more, I don't really worry about being SOO strict on cleaning them as I used to

i bought a few 'sheets' of small studs earrings in different colors from claire's and they came with backs that are actually black, and they stay on very well, we haven't lost a back or an earring yet and it's been a few months in this pair.
