Oh my gosh I have just read the post on height vs how early you go into labour. What freightens me is that most of the ladies are around 5.3 - 5.6 and they all started early labour into their twenty weeks without knowing it. Having Contractions etc, and delivered around 34 weeks. I am now 22 weeks going onto 23 on Sunday and I have noticed an increase in my BH contractions as well as the intensity and frequency. I have been joking about my body seriously getting ready for labour. Now I am just plain scared. Should i ask my doctor about the bh contractions or am I now just being paranoid.
My youngest son was born at 36 weeks.

I think that anytime you are in a multiple pregnancy your doctor should be told about an increase in BHs. Sometimes people need meds to control the contrax, some need bedrest, some need more fluids, some are just fine with nothing. Its better to be safe than sorry

I agree, anything that you slightly question about telling your doc you should have a conversation about. I haven't checked into the height thread but it sounds like people were posting about similar situations as mine. I am 5'4", had PTL issues at 29 weeks, didn't know I was having any issues, delivered at just over 36 weeks, no NICU time, they both came home with me.

I had no idea I was having any contractions and when I was put on the monitors they were happening every 2 minutes. It was scary, I too remember kind of joking when they told me I should go to labor and delivery, but then the flourish of activity happened. They wouldn't let me eat anything, just ice shavings, they wouldn't even let me tour the NICU because they didn't want me to move. That was a huge wake up call. Everything was fine, my babies were perfectly healthy but it definitely did instill my confidence in my medical staff (since they noticed all the cervical changes, I felt nothing) and confirm my thoughts that if I were to feel anything out of the ordinary or if anything was concerning me to mention it to my OB without thinking twice.

I was having more contractions at the point where you are, than I am now. My OB does start NST's at every appt around 22-24 wks also, so maybe ask for one to ease your mind. Also, just make sure you are counting them per hour, and let your OB know. It is totally normal for the uterus to contract throughout the whole pregnancy, I think it's just that it's more noticable with multiples, and of course, you want to make sure it's not changing your cervix, etc. Like I said, I'm 5'1" and have been relatively lucky so far (maybe it's all the worrying I've done!), so don't dwell too much on your size, it's not everything... Good luck!
