    Hi all
I will be 37w, in just a few hours on 2/19. I started having contractions last night around 9pm. They are 7 min apart. I called the DR today and went in for a NST. Babies look great and I am contracting every 7min. When checked, I am finger tip dilated, which is "progress" for me since the last check a few weeks ago. Babies are breech though so I have a c section scheduled for 2/27. The contractions are continuing and seem to be getting more painful, but remain about 7 min apart. I have also had 2 loose stools today, so I believe this is beginning labor for me, along with losing my plug over the weekend. Sorry for TMI.

Here is my question...will they/would they just let me continue on for the next week? I literally only slept 2 hours last night total due to the contractions. I cannot imagine continuing with this for another week, but don't know if they would move up the section, if I am only finger tip dilated? Has this happened to anyone else?

hi i started to go into labor 1 week 12 days early. It wasn't that bad i felt like i was having gas pains lol but sharp ya know i called the dr and they told me to go to the hospital and have it checked out. they did a NST and said i was contracting. i was 2cm dialated and they kept me and did a c-section. i was also breech and was having one anyway. my due date was 6/12 and on 6/1 i had my babies. i don't know why they r waiting since u r in labor already. i would tell ur ob that u cant take the pain anymore and want to have them now. what r they gonna say no.

I would call and let them know that they are increasing in painfulness and about the loose stool if they didn't already know. I can't imagine that it would take a week or that they would let you go that long, but I can't answer that for sure. Good luck and keep us updated.

Well, I would definately call the dotor and let him know that you are still feeling contrations. Let him know how far apart they are and when they started. Also make sure you mention the other symptoms as well. It does sound like labor. I would think that it is highly unlikely that you would ontinue to ontrat and have these symptoms for a week. A day or two maybe, but a week is unlikely. Once labor begins it just keeps progressing usually. At 37 weeks I am sure that they would not stop your labor, but of course stranger things have happened. Regardless, you are about to meet your babies!!! :8714bumper: How exciting!!! I can tell you that meeting your babies for the first time is worth all the labor and agony of pregnancy!! Good luck, and here's hoping that your labor progresses quickly enough to get you admitted and preped for your delivery ASAP!!

Ahhh, I am trying to hold out. I actually have a DR appt for this morning at 9:30. Yesterday, the DR said I should call/come in if contractions got closer together, or changed in intensity. They have stayed pretty much 7 minutes apart, but seem stronger. I feel them really low now, like menstrual cramps that are definitely getting worse. They are bad enough that I still cannot sleep through them, hence why I am online at 2:50am.

On a side note, I am trying to "enjoy" this time. My 5 year old DD woke up at 2:30am and was hungry, so I made her a bagel and myself a peanut butter sandwich and here we sit together eating our snack :icon_biggrin: I know all too soon things will be changing and am enjoying our late night picnic together. Of course, I now feel nauseous, but that I think that is part of the "labor" bit.
