Evan mastered the art of rolling about week or two ago. Then earlier this week he started doing this head scoot thing where he would put his legs under him, slide forward on his head and then do it all over again. Yesterday he learned how to get up onto all fours and just a few minutes ago I caught him on all fours doing the rocking motion. I know that's a precursor to crawling, but I don't remember my other two starting this early and from the posts I have seen it seems like crawling begins somewhere around 7-8 months. When did yours begin the rocking motion and how long did it last. Could it just be that he will be rocking back and forth for months?

Also, Evan is doing all that I just mentioned but Cameron has only figured out how to roll onto his back from his tummy. He is struggling with rolling onto his tummy from his back. He tries but he just can't get it. Is it normal for one to jump this far ahead so quickly?

My DS was six months when he started crawling. Seven months when he mastered it and started pulling himself to standing. DD is just now getting the hang of crawling on all fours. I wouldn't worry. It is hard sometimes because you can compare them so easily but they are individuals and will accomplish their milestones in their own time :)

My DD has started pulling up on all fours and rocking, DS in content just to lay around smiling, My other kids all crawled around 7-8 months, so she just might be my early bird. I woulnd't worry about one hitting milestones first, babies all have their own timeline. Cameron may just crawl closer to the "normal" time.

It is so hard not to compare them to each other, I know I struggle with that every day. Lila always does everything ahead of Luke & then I wonder why he isn't doing it too, and then he does it & I go on to wonder about the next milestone. When I had just one at a time I never really thought about it. Also, Lila works really hard to learn things like crawling, rolling over, etc. & Luke always just wakes up one morning & does it. Never a dull moment, that's for sure!

Leighanna started getting on all fours and rocking at about 5 months by 6 months she had mastered crawling. Liberty started getting on all four at 6 months and master at about 7 months. By the sounds of it you're going to have your hands full in a few weeks. :)

I don't remember when my girls started to crawl I do remember Katrina would do the physical things first and then usually anywhere from 2wks to a month Kira would do the same thing. They are two different individuals so they will be doing things in their own time. Each one has certain strengths that one will be good at and the other not so good at.

My started the rocking motion at 5mths and 1 week and was moving a little two weeks later but officially was crawling 1 day after his 6mth apt (regular crawling not army). He then about two weeks later started to pull himself up on furniture. So you could have a crawler by 6mths or he could just like doing that and take longer you can really never tell until it happens.

One of dd's twins is doing the same.. Corey has been rocking on all 4's for a couple of weeks now while Cameron is content to roll around :) They also both just cut their first two teeth.
