How old was your baby/ies when you got their ears pierced? I was told the younger the better but be aware of possible infections..

I never pierced my dd's ears. It's a decision I'm leaving up to her. I'm sure she'll want them someday so when she's ready, I will be too...

Our pediatrician recommended waiting until their 6 month appt, after their shots, so thats when we plan on getting our girlies' ears pierced. Plus, I've heard the younger they are, the better chance you have of them not tugging at their ears afterward.

I had my oldest DD ears pierced when she was 7 mo and have never had a problem. Use Campophenique (coldsore medicine) it helps dry the sores up. She has never bothered with them and if she doesn't want them later she can let the holes close. I plan on having my twins done at 6 mo. Good Luck!

Me too. Our oldest DD got hers done on her 7th birthday. We had a very special afternoon together.

We did it the same day she got her tetanus shot at 2 months. She has never tugged at them and we had no complications. We did it at the mall! :)

We had them done at 4 1/2 months. We did them at the Mall and just made sure we followed the cleaning instructions and we cleaned them every day for 6 weeks - 3 times a day. We had no problems w/ them.

We did them on her 4 month checkup. I figured she was already crying and just get it over with. Crying breaks my heart so I am glad I got it all over in one shot (no pun intended). I did it at the pedi's office for $20 and it included the earrings. I cleaned them everynight after the bath with the alcohol wipes (had some laying around from my IVF shots).

She doesn't tug at them and I can clean and rotate them without her even knowing what I am doing. I tried changing them but she started to get a little puffy in one ear so I changed them back the same day and haven't had a problem.

I did my girls right at 3 months- so about 3 weeks ago. They cried, but it was quickly fixed by a bottle. We have had no problems yet!
I did it somewhat because I wanted to- and to be sure we never mix the girls up!

First DD at 5 months. Twins at 4 months. Go somewhere that specializes in ear piercings. I had a great experience with the Piercing Pagoda with DD 1, but someone suggested just going to Wal-Mart for the twins. NOT a good experience!!
