Hi ladies, Me again. I can't believe my little sweeties are still asleep and I am ssoo very wide awake. They have been asleep for 4 1/2 hours. It's 11:55pm here in NY. sshhhh type quietly, mommy.

I have a few questions about DVDs. First of all which ones do you all like? And secondly at what age did you play them? What about that all day baby channel? does asyone have it. I missed a trial period but was told they play commersial free videos- some baby einsten among others. I have dish network. They would not give me a free trial. They said they would only charge me for the time I have it to check it out. And thirdly, when you put on a /DVD how long do you leave it on. My little ones are too little now but I am just wondering because I have some gift cards and thought I might spend them on a DVD or 2.

    TIA :)

Every morning my girls watch playhouse disney. They watch Higglytown heroes, then while they are watching little einsteins I make their breakfast, they watch mickey mouse while eating breakfast, and then we get on the floor and crawl around while handy manny and the doodleboops are on. We have been doing this for 2 or 3 months now. After lunch they watch about 15-20 minutes of a pooh DVD so I can clean up. And then between their cereal and their bath at night they watch more pooh DVD so we can get ready for a bath.

They also have DVD players in the car (they are GREAT!) and they watch Higglytown Heroes-the movie- when we go somewhere.

    Hi Brooke,

We just got DirectTV and noticed that baby channel, but unfortunately we don't get it. <_< We love the Baby Einstein series. I turn it on once in awhile while they are playing and are getting a little fussy(usually at the end of the day, close to dinner)and I think just the music alone calms them. They watch for a bit, and then play, and then watch a little more. I love these videos. :yahoo:

I got the Baby Chanel for a month and had it turned off, I was very disappointed with it. I love the Baby Einstein videos my girls were mesmerized by them. Now that they are older they don't care for them anymore. We switched to noggin and nick jr, they seen to enjoy watching the older shows. They LOVE Dora, by the time they out grow her I'm going to know every show by heart.

There is a movie called Calm Baby. They LOVE it. They watch it usually once a day. They like Baby Ein but not as much as Calm Baby. Here is a website where you can order it. You can also find it out at the stores.

My girls weren't much interested in videos until they were around one and then the Baby Einstein series really held their interest. They loved Baby Behtoven, Baby Neptune, and Baby Galileo, especially. The music is very soothing and the images are amaxing. We live in Canada and subscribe to Treehouse, but any children's channel that is COMMERCIAL FREE would be good for when they are a little older. They started liking Dora and Diego around age 2 and I found them very educational. Our satellite service also offers two children's music stations which are also commercial free and we listened to them a lot too. HTH!

I haven't bought any dvds for my two yet, but they do watch Noggin. I let them watch it in the morning for about half an hour so I could wake up! :lazy: And then they watch TV from 5:30 until 6:00 because by that time I am out of energy and they start getting cranky...so the TV works! But really, they don't just watch it, they play and look at it every few minutes, except for when Moose and Zee are on {the cartoon "hosts" of the channel} then they stop whatever they are doing and watch!

Though at times it was difficult, I waited until my boys turned 2 before they watched any thing on TV. The first thing they saw was an Elmo DVD......and that's all it took to hook them!! Now they ask for Elmo about once a day so I have invested in a couple of those "Elmo's World" compilation DVD's.

My girls have loved the Baby Einstein videos from early on. It always seemed to calm them when they were cranky. Now they watch them, play watch, etc. They also like the Higglytown Heros and The Wiggles. Alina loves to dance with the Wiggles!! They are kind of annoying to me, but it is hilarious to watch the girls when the are on. A lot of times, they seem more interested in the little bits between shoes on PlayHouse Disney.

Mine watch Baby Einstein (which ever is in the DVD) for 20 minutes in the morning before going to grandma's house. They do not get any TV at all at ther house really....lots of play time and outdoor time. Then they will get maybe 20-40 minutes in the evening but, mostly they are on the floor playing....so it just depends.
