Ok, I don't like to plop the boys down in front of the TV very often but occassionally I need to get them out of my hair and when they get really fussy I put a DVD on. They LOVE LOVE LOVE Baby Genius Nursery Rhyme DVDs and that is it! I have tried Baby Einstein, Seasmae Street, Elmo, Barney, etc...They also really like Little Einstein (the beginning only though with the music). I am getting SO sick of Baby Genius so please recommend some good DVDs with LOTS of singing, etc. They don't like talking....just songs!

    Thanks

There are several Sesame Street DVDs that are just songs or 90% songs. We have the 25th Anniversary one which is like 90% songs with only short transitions between the songs. I really like it because there's a lot of stuff I remember from the 70s on there!
Also the shows Yo Gabba Gabba and Hi5 are mostly songs as well.

Mine recently discovered the Wiggles (at least, one DVD that we got at the library -- I don't know if they're all similar). There's a ton of singing on that one and they love it.

That said, there was very little that held their attention until they were almost 2. And then they watched the same 2 DVDs for almost a year. It wasn't until 2.5-3 years that they were actually curious about new videos.

Also, FWIW, they love Sesame Street, but don't like the ones that are mostly songs! Maybe they just don't like the type of music? For songs, they seem to prefer things they actually know -- toddler music, as opposed to kid-friendly versions of adult music.

Oh, I totally forgot about the They Might Be Giants "Here Come the ABCs" We've had it since they were 2. They loved it then, went off it for a while, and now love it again at 4. It's only songs and chalk full of great new vocabulary.

Do they have a DVD? My dh says he seriously could listen to the cd on the way to work! It is by far the boys favorite thing to listen to. They would be out of their mind if it was a DVD also!

Jack, Jack, and more Jack's Big Music Show! My boys LOVE LOVE LOVE this show!!!! The only problem? It is not made anymore-and there are very few products out there for it. I think one DVD and one CD. It's a huge hit in my house(thank goodness for the DVR!), as my boys LOVE music as well. It's the ONLY show they watch-along with Baby Einstein Baby Noah(with all the animals).

Great post! I'm going to have to take a look at some of the other suggestions!

The only videos I can get my twinnies to sit through are the Baby Signing Time ones. They are 100% music and sign language. They absolutely LOVE them and while I only intended to teach them a few basic signs now they each know 20 or so that they use daily. Its the only way I get a shower some days!! They will watch Seasme Street and Little Einsteins off and on but it doesn't hold their attention more than a minute or two.

There's a Sesame Street Sing a long that our boys really like, but they really like all of their Sesame Street DVDs, which of course, all have some level of singing.

My girls new favorite show is Hi-5. Lots and lots of singing and learning. It's a really great show. Also they like a show called Hip Hop Harry that has singing and a lot of dancing. I also agree about Laurie Berkner. My girls have always loved her and also Ralphs World dvd is great. It's all little music videos for the little ones. I also agree about Signing Times. They are really greatl.
