On January 5th my twins arrived via scheduled C-section at 34.9 weeks. Duncan Jackson arrived at 10:42 weighing 5lbs 3oz, followed by Maxwell Salvatore at 10:43 weighing 3lbs 6 oz. I was scheduled do to IUGR and blood flow issues to Max. The c-section was not bad. I had asked for something to calm me down prior to going into the operating room but they did not give it to me. The worst part of the entire process was remaining calm and relaxed while the spinal was being put in. Both boys came out crying and my husband and I thought it was the best sound in the whole world. Neither baby needed help breathing or eating and didn't spend a second in the NICU. Both ended up with high billy rubin and spent some time under the lights. Max had to stay a little longer in the special care nursery due to his weight and ability to maintain his body temperature. Both babies are now home and my husband and I can't help but stare at them.

I have been breast feeding and pumping and surprisingly it is going extremely well. If any of you are considering breast feeding I would recommend getting the Symphony pump by Medela. My insurance is covering it for 3 months and it is so much better than the pumps at the hospital.

Pictures are uploaded on my babysites page.

Good luck to all you ladies out there. Once you can hold your babies all the issues of pregnancy will melt away. They are truly a blessing from God.

Congratulations! It is so great to hear how well everything went, and that your boys are home and thriving. Stories like yours make me so anxious to get to that point! Good luck, and thanks for the tip about the pump. I have been looking into that, and I've read good things about the symphony.

    Congratulations! [IMG] Duncan [IMG] Maxwell
The Symphony was awesome, I used it whenever I could while visiting the babies; my insurance purchased the Ameda Purely Yours, I was hoping for the Medela, but the Ameda did a good job.

Congratulations!!! That is such a wonderful story and they are such fun names! We were talking about our nephew Max this morning and my old initials were DJ, so I am quite partial to your names. I love the picture of the tiny, tiny baby curled up on your husband's shoulder. You look so happy holding them on the blankets under the chair. Your pictures make it look so fun... CONGRATULATIONS AND ENJOY!!
