    Hi ladies [IMG]

Anyone else's due dates not equal the birth of your babies?

If I were having a singleton my due date would be the 18 July. But now that I'm having twins my ob can't give me an expected due date for them. He says twins are not pradictable. Now if I decide upon a c-section we can have a date tomorrow, but not with a vaginal delivery.

We're have decided to wait until I reach the 37 wk mark (if I ever do) & then decide which route would be best. Of course it all depends upon how the twins are positioned.

Did any of you have this same situation? Please share.

My OB said my twins edd was 5/1/06, but I'd have them by 4/20/06. He said he wouldn't keep them in any longer. I couldn't stand the pelvic pain. It hurt so bad I got induced 2w earlier. Good luck to you!

My oB always quotes my 40 week due date. If both are head down she'll givce me to week 39 - then induce.

    If breech - she's going to do a c-section at 38 weeks.

She said she'd be very happy if I make it to 36 weeks (even 34 would be good).

My doc was just happy I made it past 32 weeks. He said full term is 37-38 weeks but doesn't think I will last that long. He won't give me a date for a c-section yet.

I'm 33 weeks and have no clue what my "date" is. People ask me all the time, and I generally shrug and say , "by May". April 26th is my 38 week mark at which point if I'm still pregnant my ob will induce me--but since I'm not opting for a c-section right now (both are head down) she won't pin down a date at all! I wish I had an end mark!

I did have a EDD of January 5th, 2004. He said sometimes it can happen sooner, like 4 weeks sooner. Or in some cases a lot sooner. BUT that was my due date from the get go. I had mine on December 4th, 2004.

Your actual due date will always be the same (the 40 week due date). So even a scheduled delivery isn't actually a "due date" in my mind. It's just that you know they'll arrive by that time. [IMG] If people ask my due date I always say "My 40 week due date is May 28th, but the babies will mostly likely come at least a few weeks early."

I agree with Melissa. A due date is 40 weeks from the first day of your last period. Singleton, twins or more. However, most twins won't make it 40 weeks and most docs won't let you. My due date was 12/9/06 and I delivered at 38w2d. So you do have a due date, but nobody knows what your exact day of delivery will be ... hopefully as close to 38 weeks as possible. I think the average for twins is 35-36 weeks.

My edd is May 31st, that is 40 weeks which they won't even let me go that far. So I just went over all this at the doc's today. If they are both head down at 35 weeks we will just let me go until I deliver or 37 weeks when they would induce. If one of the babies changes in the mean time I can always schedule a C/S. I for my own sanity try to keep a 37 week date in my mind but in order to keep track of how many weeks I actually am I just go by the edd.

My due date is July 31st and my doctor said she will try to get me to 26-38 weeks. No exact date. I noticed on my u/s baby a edd is Aug.1st and baby b July 30th. When people ask when I am due I tell them around the first and third week in July.

Ditto what most others said. When asked, I always say my due date is April 30th, that's 40 weeks for me. But then I tell them that my docs said they won't let me go past 38 weeks, so if I make it that far, I'll have a scheduled c-section mid April (babies are breech and transverse and don't show any signs of moving!)...

But I don't think you get to change your due date just because you are carrying more than one baby ... i think it's just that you might have an "arrival date" ... which is nice, something to count down to!

My 40 week due date was always March 19th. When asked, I would tell people my due date was March 19th, but that since I was having twins it would most likely be well before that day. I ended up having an emergency c-section on February 17th due to pre-eclampsia. We had already schedule a c-section for March 1st, but didn't even make it til then.
