    Hello All,

I thought I was all set on a monitor, before I was even pregnant I was going to buy the angelcare monitor, then I found out I was having twins and now the research has started from scratch. I have decided that I would like to purchase a video monitor with the option to purchase a second camera for when they are put into seperate rooms. Tell me about your video monitor, what you like and what you don't.

    Thanks!

I have a Mobi that has 2 cameras. I like it, we sleep with it on Hannah's room bc the boys are in beds and their room is right next to ours. The picture quality is good, probably not the best but I've always been able to see what's going on. We were just joking the other day bc the boys are playing in their room with door closed more and more that it went from being a baby monitor to a surveillance camera;)

All I can say is I have an audio monitor and wish I had video, ours are 10 mo and still sharing a crib :)

I bought a Uniden wireless camera system when my youngest was about 9 months old (twins were a little over 2 years old). I absolutely love it. I love being able to see what is going on. And, when it came time to train our boys for "big boy beds," it was invaluable!!! It can handle up to 4 cameras and also has audio. We have one camera in the twins room, one in my singleton's room, one mounted in the basement, and one reserved for our new baby due in July (also planning for an Angelcare in her room). My only gripe is that the range is not that great so we still use our plain old audio monitors (Graco iVibe) when we are outside or in our basement.

I've got a motorola video monitor (with night vision...gawd such a lifesaver) hooked up to scan between two cameras.
    It's this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004VL2VRY/?tag=mytwins02-20

The system supports up to 4 cameras and 2 "parent" units, so definite room for expansion. We've not had a single problem with it. So far, couldn't be happier. The night vision functionality is what sells it for us. Our babies want darkness in their room, so they have blackout curtains....night vision means we can still see them. Also, (big duh), we can see what's going on at night...for instance if one of them gets into a dicey situation (something that would wake them prematurely) or when I'm trying to get them to nap but I need to know if they're settling or not -- should I blunder in (lest one wake the other) or leave it be? I'm certain they get better rest because of this. Pricey but it's been worth every penny.

We've only had one or two minor complaints, and those were with bonus bundled features (so not at all necessary). Firstly, the cameras have thermometers built into them, but the reading isn't accurate (if it's accurate then there's a constant 2 degree fahrenheit difference between two side by side cribs). Secondly, there is an intercom/speaker system which garbles anything you say to the baby -- there are also 5 different terribly rendered lullaby tunes. Neither of these are what we bought the system for, but I suppose if you WANTED your camera to play music.. (facepalm)...then this isn't the system for you. Otherwise, it's awesome in every way.

Note: The babes are only 5 months old, so we've not had it long enough to comment upon durability.

Is there a good quality video camera monitor that has a span or an extra wide feature so I don't need to invest in 2 cameras for each crib to keep an eye on each baby?

I am leaning towards the Motorola since it had the best reviews at both Target & BRU but I don't want to pay for an extra camera. My link

    Thanks!

I vote for the Motorola. I have it and love the night vision, scan feature, two cameras and ability to add more if needed. Also being able to talk to baby being monitored is pretty awesome. My only complaint is the thermometer is way off and always reads at least 5 degrees too high.
