    Hi,

I am expecting my twin girls with in the next few weeks and am curious about purchasing a dual video monitor. We have a video monitor (safety 1st) for my son, which we love. Unfortunately it won't work for the twins because you won't be able to see both cribs with just one camera. You could if you put the camera back far enough but you wouldn't be able to get a close up look (I am paranoid sometimes haha). Anyway we are wanting to get a dual viedo monitor so that we can place 2 cameras in there room, one on each crib. i believe it flashes between each camera every 10 secs. Does anyone have one of these and do they like it?

I don't have one, but it sounds like a great idea! I really wish I had a video monitor as DD is into rolling right now and it's hard to tell if she is fussing b/c she rolled over and got stuck or she is just fussing for the sake of fussing.

Hopefully someone will have a good answer.

I got the Summer Infant Monitor and camera then bought a second camera. There is a switch on the side to go from camera A to camera B. I have a camera over each crib. I don't like the idea of them rotating from one crib to the other, I like to control which crib I am looking at. I know the sounds my babies make, so when I hear one, I flip to their camera. And when I want to see them both, I flip the button from A to B. No problems. I am super happy with it.

We have the same set up, and it works great for us. I will give a word of caution that the quality of all of the Summer Infant Video Monitors is NOT the same. The larger consoles are cheap and the reception is horrible. We also tried the Mobicams, but the frequency they run on was interrupted by our cordless phones and worst of all our wireless internet. Since the connection is always "on", the monitor never worked. Anyways, we ended up with the Summer handheld monitors, and they are so much better the reception is close to flawless. We purchased two separate sets, so we have two cameras and two monitors. I keep one monitor on our main level and one upstairs in our bedroom. You can find them much cheaper (and new in box) on Ebay.

    Good Luck!

We have the Summer handheld monitors too. We got 1 as a gift and brought the 2nd video camera through ebay. We do switch A/B to check each crib and their sleeping sounds too instead running in there every time. It make our life easier to know they are doing fine. We are going to buy the 3rd monitor for our family room because my kitchen is on the off from the room. I am a deaf Mom to my hearing twins. I can't keep running every minute to check on them when I am cooking or cleaning. Ugh! We hope to find a good deal on ebay.

PS. When we do get our basement finished our 3rd monitor will go be kept in the basement in their play room.

We have the same set up, but the MOBI units. They are excellent! The clarity is amazing. We found them for a great deal on Craigslist.com. We didn't get them until the twins were 5 months, and I wish I had gotten them sooner. You don't feel like you have to rush in every moment, I highly recommend them!

We have the MobiCam, too. I've posted information about this in another PP, so I'll cut & paste it here:

We are really happy with the one that we have. We have the MobiCam 70001 system. Here is the link. We have 2 cameras and 1 monitor and you have the option of connecting your monitor to your TV. It's a very simple system. You just have to plug it in. We do experience some interference so the channels are set to 1 and 3. I really like these cameras because it has night vision and sound. The pictures are very clear and there is also a motion detector option. We have a 2 story house and I found it very helpful when the babies were younger. It made it very convenient and we didn't have to run up and down the stairs all the time. I still use it at night to monitor them and I sometimes put the cameras in their playroom so that I can "watch" them from the kitchen. HTH!

We bought the SVAT Wireless Nightvision Monitoring System from Amazon and purchased an extra camera. It works GREAT! My DH installed a camera above each crib (they are still in one crib at the moment tho). It is so nice to see them at night sleeping away......or crying! :)

I actually have the larger monitor from Summer Infant instead of the handheld. I am quite happy with it and have no trouble with reception. I felt like the screens on the handhelds were a bit too small for me. And when I move my monitor, I just plug it in where I am going to be. We take it downstairs in the evenings while we are watching tv then bring it to the bedroom when we go to sleep.

We have one Summer video monitor and it is positioned up high enough to see them in their 2 separate cribs. We put them that way so we could get them both in the monitor.

Better than just the audio monitors.

The picture may not be as clear as if it were right over the crib but it certainly is enough to see what they are doing.

We couldn't justify buying two with them being 170 bucks. One is enough for us and we just buy other things that we need.

I would definately recommend this to any parent!

Such a lifesaver with checking on them when you don't feel like getting out of bed or going upstairs to peek in on them.

You don't have to purchase two whole units...if you want a second camera they sell them separately.
