DS only naps for 45 minutes. It is like clockwork. They used to take 3 naps. Since he was napping only 45 minutes, I moved them to 2 naps and he still only naps 45 minutes. Occassionally he'll fall back asleep after 20 minutes or so and then as soon as he does DD is waking up! I think she would sleep longer if she didn't hear him. He takes good naps when we are other people's homes. I don't know what the deal is... Any suggestions?

Is there something about other people's houses that is different? Like a softer bed, a soothing background noise or a cooler/hotter room? My guys LOVE sleeping at my Grandma N's house because she puts them in the same room as my Grandpa's oxygen machine. For whatever reason the noise is really comforting to them, they conk out hardcore and sleep for 3-4 hours.

If you could replicate whatever it is, then maybe he'd sleep longer?

This happens to me too! Is it the name Kevin??? [IMG]

Seriously though, is it possible to put a PNP up in your room or another room so that DD can get a little longer nap in? We have done that for our guys because they ALWAYS wake each other up.

I agree with Jenny, maybe there is some sort of noise that soothes them... if there is find it soon!!

I did find that they sleep really good when I turn on our really loud air purifier fan. But I was just worried about them depending on that noise to sleep good. What do you think? Better to use it? Right now I have them separated for sleep because DS always wakes up DD.

OMG...I could set my watch to their naps! 45 minutes, everyday, doesn't matter what I do encourage a longer sleep. I've tried, noise machines, swaddling, tummy sleeping, you name it. They seem to have an internal clock set to 45 minutes (or even a few less from time to time). It drives me nuts because I know they would benefit from a longer nap--they often wake up cranky and still tired, but I can't entice them to keep sleeping. Please let me know if you find something that works!

I just bought the baby whisperer book, she suggest to, go in the room as soon as he stirs, and use anything to get him back to sleep, if you wait to long he will fully wake up, but if you are early enough you might get him back to sleep, it should take about a week, and she swear they will sleep longer. I'm trying, it seems to get better, but it has definately been longer than a week, and I can't always get them back to sleep, if I do it is usually for no longer than an 1/2 hour. We will keep our fingers crossed!!

I think it would be better to have well rested babies now and worry about weaning them from the noise later than the other way around! My ds Dave had to have music playing when he was a baby, when he was about 18 months old he stopped needing it.
