    Ladies,
I'm trying to figure out if a baby safe laundry detergent for dryer sheet or fabric softener is out there. My boys aren't coming until next month , but I wanted to go ahead and buy the detergent and softener I'll need. After some research I've decided to go with All Free and clear for the detergent (I like that the entire family can use just one detergent) but I haven't been able to find any info on Softener.

What are you guys using? Any brand I should stay away from? Your help is appreciated.

I use bounce free dryer sheets in the dryer. No scents.

There are Dryer Sheets made for infants. They are sold at Babies R Us and come in a pink box. Something like toddler something. [IMG] I have them, but I can't remember what they are. I got them at as a shower gift w/ some Dreft. To be honest, I can't tell where they really work though.

I don't use either...only Sunlight Sensitive. Dryer sheets and Fabric softner can make their clothes less flame retardent. I wash all our clothes in sunlight and then dry only mine and DH's clothes with a dryer sheet.

One of my boys has real sensitive skin, we use Dreft laundry detergent, for babies and Gain dryer sheets. So far, so good!

I think that softener and and dryer sheets do something to the "flame resistant" status of the close. You'll have to check at BRU for your best bets!

I use dryer sheets and regular stuff on my kids. I did that after I went through one container of Dreft (hated it!)!

ONCE you know if your babies' skin is not/or is sensitive you can switch things up!

Good luck on the remainder of your pregnancy!! I hope it's uneventful!

I don't use fabric softener on the kids' clothing.

Yes, they break down the fire retardant properties of clothing (like pajamas, etc).

I bet you also didn't know that you're not supposed to wash your carseat straps for the same reason either. [IMG]

And that is the end of my fire lesson for the day. [IMG]

I buy all natural softener from Whole Foods, as well as the detergent - it's sure safe [IMG]

I agree fabric softener does something funky to the clothes. It puts a coating on the dryer, too, which transfers to cotten and ruins burp cloths and diapers. (Ever wonder why your bath towels just "quit working"?) I use Tide Free and no softener on all our clothes.

We just use the Downy drer sheets. We used to use fabric softener but I got too lazy. I used to be really anal about breeaking out the baby clothes and washing them in Dreft no dryer sheets, etc - then tried it once with ours and the kids were fine. I'm all about less loads of laundry - laundry is my arch enemy!
