Hi, My daughter has one cheek and her chin that are like sandpaper from wiping at it constantly with her cold this week. Between the dry air, the snotty mess, and constant wiping and tears, her skin is literally like sandpaper in these spots. I am trying to rub vaseline on when she lets me. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Aquaphor always works for me. I put it on their face everyday and I use it for my lips as well.

Ditto- we use that on them as needed. Works in the diaper area for rashes as well.

I use vasaline as well. I did hear though that California Baby makes a cream called calendula cream that is all natural and suppose to be great! I haven't tried it yet. Vaseline is working great for us.

Ditto the Aquaphor! With the weather here, my girls both constantly have red, rough cheeks and chins. I put it on and they're cleared up in a matter of minutes! I've been applying it after every meal and at bedtime for about a month now and will continue to use it all winter. But it rocks!

Hydrolatum is the best stuff I have found. It sounds like it would be greasy, but it really isn't. A friend whose son suffered from severe excema was told to use it on her sons skin and it worked wonders. My boys (especially my oldest) get extremely dry irritated skin in the winters. This stuff is wonderful on hands and faces, or any other patch of dry or irritated skin.

Besides the above link on Amazon, you can also often find it behind the counter at the pharmacy. It's not prescription, but you usually have to ask the pharmacist for it for some reason.
