    OK.

My Daughter is 1 year old. 15 lbs 11 oz and was a micro preemie born at 26 weeks. We have had a million drs appts seeing all sorts of people including a nephrlogist sp? a kidney dr. At the last appt about 2 months ago he said that things are looking better and not too worry and to come back in 6months.

Yesterday the nanny said that she didn't have many wet diapers but we wrote that off to transitioning to sippy cups. So last night we gave her 4 oz of formula with dinner and 6 after her bath and 4 at like midnight when she woke up screaming. When DH got her up this morning her diaper was 100% dry. We checked her jammies and her bed to see if we had some wierd leakage thing but everything was dry. then gave her a 6 oz bottle of formula nanny got there gave her 4 oz formula and 4 oz pedailte. STILL NO PEE!!! So I called the dr. and they told me to bring her in. I took off work went and picked her up and went to the pedi. Ours was out so we saw her partner. He told me nothing was wrong and he didn't understand why I brought her in. If she was dehydrated she would not have watery eyes and a wet mouth. I told him that I wasn't worried about that because I know she's been drinking, more than normal. I asked about her kidneys and he told me that we shouldn't worry too much. If she was having kidney failure then her eyes would be watery.

JUST IN CASE YOU DIDN'T CATCH IT.

He said her watery eyes meant no dehydration.

He said Kidney Failure she would have watery eyes.

Any way we left and called her kidney dr and he said to wait 4 to 6 more hours keep giving her fluids and if she doesn't pee by then to meet him downtown at the medical center!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! This is so frustrating, so I took her home I'm back at work and I am diligenlty waiting on her to pee.

What do you guys think? Anyone gone through anything like this before???

Poor baby :( I hope she pees soon!!! Keep us posted. The only time one of mine has gone a day w/out peeing is when Elizabeth had a stomach virus and got dehydrated and needed IV fluids!

How's your daughter? I would have been worried too, even if ther were no prior kidney concerns. Was the new pedi aware of her history?? Let us know when you get the chance!! :hug99:

Have the doctors done a urine culture? When my daughter had problems with her urine output my doctor did a culture to see if there was an infection. Come to find out there was an infection because of blockage in one of her tubes. The doctors were a bit confused with her though because she did not have a fever and acted just fine, but I knew there was something going on and was persistant.

The only bad thing about getting a clean sample is with a catheter, which would have to be used if she was not peeing as well. In the end, we caught the problem, fixed it and she has not had any problems from it since then. Oh, and we also found out at that time that she has three kidneys!

I do hope that the kidney doctor will see her so you both can figure out what is going on!

    Hey everybody.

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond we have been at the hospital for the last 2 days. It turns out she had some pretty bad kidney stones. Stupid Dr!!! We had to take her down town to Texas Childrens to make sure that we are getting some good care. I'll update more later on but i'm heading to bed. Haven't slept in 3 days.

:hug99: :hug99: IS she ok now?? I'm sorry the pedi blew you off! For some reason, in my own experience & other posts here, it seems that sick visits with the regular pedi's partner are often not handled well by the "new" pedi. :spiteful:

Oh my, I hope things are going better soon! I think you did a great job seeking out another opinion and going to Children's Hospital. I hope she is on the mend now. Thinking of you!
