well for starters the twins were 5lbs 1 oz and 5 lbs 3 oz at birth. They had been gaining about 2 oz a month for the first 2 months. On friday Chloe(5lbs 3) was 11 lbs 12 oz and Leah was 11 lbs 4 oz.Is that small for 4 months? Also the whole time the girls have stayed about 2 oz's apart and now all of a sudden Chloe is 8 oz's different.Chloe was always 1/2 shorter but weighed more and now she is .25 longer than Leah. Its like Leah is slacking. They both eat the same amounts at the same times. The Ped really didn't say much about it ..but it was a fill in on Friday.I just think that is small for 4 months for both of them and all of a sudden a big difference in sizes. My oldest 2 were small too 6,1 and 6,3 but they seemed to weigh more..not sure can't find their baby books since we moved in our new house.

What were they on the percentage charts last appt versus this visit? If they are growing on their curve then I wouldnt worry but if they are drifting downward, I would address it with your regular Ped.

They were 10th percentile for the date they were born and the 25th for their adjusted age. Im not sure this time.It wasn't their regular Ped and she really didn't say much she was more worried about giving them their shots and getting us out of there since our appt takes longer with two( I really don't like her but their Ped is also an OB and was doing an Emergency CS so no time to r/s with reg. Ped)

We just had our 4 month checkup on friday also, our little boy is huge, 15lbs, and our little girl weighed in at 11lbs 4oz. We were also a little worried about her, but the dr was not concerned at all. She said she's growing well within her curve, and she is at 15% uncorrected and almost 80% adjusted age (they were almost 2 months early).

She said to not worry at all and to definitely not compare them. She is eating better and better (and her appetite has really picked up in the last couple of weeks) so the dr is confident she's doing great and will catch up a bit to our boy over the next couple of months.

Hope this helps since our girl weighed the same as yours.

I don't think you need to worry as long as they are growing. I think the pedi would have said something. The weights sound fine to me. My DD has always been small (I'm pretty sure she was only around 11 lbs at 4 months and at almost 9 months she's just hitting 16 lbs!) and her brother went from being the smaller at birth to a full pound heavier by 4 months...2 lbs heavier by 6 months, and now he's almost 3 lbs heavier than her, but she's still doing well and the doctor is happy with her growth. She's just petite where he's really solid (and a good 2 inches taller). I'm not sure how it works with ID twins, though...hopefully someone else can give you insight on that!

I have the opposite problem. i think my two are huge! it all depends on genes too. all of my boys were big until around 6months then they started slowing down. yours just might start gaining more when they eat cereal.

I would call and ask about the percentages. That's the important info. As for them being different in sizes, that's totally normal. My id boys are usually 1-2lbs different and 1 inch different in height. One eats a lot better and always has.
