Because you have two, do you find it more difficult to get your checkups scheduled? I find that I NEVER get a choice of when to get my kids checkups because I have to take whatever they have available since I have to have two slots. It is SOOOO frustrating to me.

My kids' doc won't schedule 3 appts together.....if I cancel it will leave a hole in the schedule. It hasn't been a problem yet because they were all due for well checks at different times, but next summer they can all go together because 2 will need school physicals (new schools for both) and DD1 will need her 6yo check up.

I will try for 2 appts right before lunch and one after lunch. That way the appts aren't all technically back to back!

I've been lucky I guess! I always get back to back appts. and have not had a problem at all. I schedule when I'm at the appt. So when I was at my 4 month appt. I scheduled the 6 month well baby.

I just try to schedule WAY in advance - a month or two even. And even then, it's sometimes a bit tough to get the doctor I want at the day and time I want.

We have been pretty lucky thus far. Though we are scheduling 2mo in advance, so that might help us some. I like the slot right before or right after lunch as those work best for my hubby and shots are not the babies favorite thing - and a real pain to do by myself. Our Dr's office is actually pretty flexible and creative. They have a couple of times scheduled us for a 10:50, and an 11:30 (and someone else had a 11:10 slot). We get in at 10:50ish and then just do both at the same time (so the 11:10 folks have to wait a little while). They are part of the Childrens' Hospital system so they have the vast majority of multiples in our area and are always super helpful getting us in. In fact I don't think we have ever been the only multiples in the office when we have gone in. There is always at least one other set if not two or three.

If it is really a nuisance maybe look for a dr's office that is more accustomed to dealing with multiples? I like that my doctor sees lots of multiples, because she will often give me tips for twins or give us the normal baby story then tell us how it is different for most people with multiples (like doing some things earlier or later and why).

We've never had an issue either, my pedi does Saturday hours so we always try to schedule a few weeks in advance for well baby check ups so we can get the first and second slots on Saturday morning and 'knock on wood' we've never had to go anything other than a well baby visit.

Wow we've never had that problem. They always schedule back to back appointments for us and get us in at times that are convenient for us. This has been for all the doctors we've seen (pedi, pedi opthamologist, radiologists, etc). I would talk to the office person or your pedi directly about it since this is only going to continue to be an issue for you. If they can't understand how difficult it is to take two babies to the doctor then maybe you should find a more accommodating practice. GL!

I usually get them together and I have also gotten 3 appts together so I could get my oldest's physical done too. I think I have been lucky though.

I usually schedule two months in advance as well. It hasn't been a huge problem so far since I haven't gone back to work yet. I go back in Sept and they have their 6mth appt at the end of the month. When scheduling that one they tried to give me an appt at 1pm for both and I explained I was just going back to work and not sure if I would be able to get time off. The scheduling girl told me to speak to the dr to see if she could give me an end of day appt. The dr was pretty understanding and fit us in at 4 on a Friday. Not sure how things are going to go the rest of the year though.

I just schedule one appointment for the two of them. However, I do have to schedule the appointment way in advance. I already have my October appointment for their 4 month check up.

We've never had that problem either. I agree- perhaps a more accommodation practice is in order.
