The girls will be 2 at the end of October. They are now on Day # 4 of no morning bottle. They still have one before bedtime but that is it.

Here is the situation: DD#1 loves milk and has no problems drinking her milk from a sippy. DD#2 does not like it in a sippy. She takes the odd sip but not much at all. Now she isn't getting near enough calcium. She will drink 8oz before bed and get some calcium during the day with cheese and yogurt (but not tonnes). What to do? I am going to try heating it up before I put it in her sippy this morning instead of offering it to her cold but what if that doesn't work?

I have edited my post to add that I have had to replace that morning bottle with food as well as the sippy. They must eat before they go to daycare so I don't have an option of just offering a sippy and nothing else. This is probably a big reason as to why she won't bother with her milk - because she also has food in front of her. I don't see any other options.

Try a real cup. Might take a bit to get used to but at there age lots are using them. Anything to get the milk in. Or even take her and get her to pick out a pretty cup(sippy or regular one).

My oldest was the same way. When I weaned her, she wouldn't touch a sippy until I had dropped every nursing session. That means she went almost a month with less than normal milk since I dropped one feeding a week. Two days after I dropped that last night time feeding, she downed a sippy of milk and never looked back. I wouldn't worry too much at this point. Offer lots of dairy products until you drop the night time bottle and I bet she'll start drinking the milk when it's that or nothing.

My girls' milk intake dropped dramatically for the first week or so they were off the bottle. They eventually upped their intake, but it did take a couple of weeks. My friend's pedi said to look at the dairy intake weekly, rather than daily, and average it out. Don't forget to factor in yogurt and cheese when adding up those ounces. I say keep at it and when she realizes this is it, she will drink.
