Hey! I haven't been on here for a while. We have a new baby who's 4 mos now and the 2.5 y/o twins.

We just put the twins in toddler beds b/c Lyla fell out. They're great at bedtime...they don't make a peep but naps are gone. Ever since we switched beds a few weeks ago they just come out. And they're pretty well tempered the rest of the day. Is this a normal time to drop the nap? I do'nt force it b/c they're really good. And then I ensure that bedtime goes smoothly. Anyone else going through this?

We made the transition to big beds about a month ago. We are still napping around here...BUT...DS's naps are ALOT shorter and DD has about 2 days out of the week where she will not nap. On those days, I still make her lay down for a rest period for an hour or so. Mine still need naps though. Their attitudes reflect it if they don't get a nap. If yours do fine without napping, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Should make bedtime easier anyways (hopefully).

It's not unheard of, but I think a 2.5 YO would probably benefit from still getting a nap. I would try and see if you can alter your routine a bit and see if you can get them napping again. If you have tried eveything and it's been going on for awhile then I just might make sure they are getting enough hours in at night.

My kids all stopped napping right at their 2nd birthday.

We actually had to separate the girls to get them to nap once we transition to toddler beds. One went into our bed and the other stayed in her bed. We would switch up whose turn it was to go to our bed everyday. That helped to keep naps going for us. Eventually they stopped playing with each other at naptime (which is the problem we had) and now IF they take a nap we can leave them in their room together. My girls didn't drop their nap until just in the last few months.

Lara stopped napping at that age. She will nap in the car if we are out but that's it. They sound as though they are doing well without it so maybe they were ready.

I agree, that a 2.5 YO would still benefit from a nap. I had to stop my DD's naps at 3y2m because she would not fall asleep at night until 10:30pm, if she napped. DS stopped his naps on his own at 3y7m. My oldest DD stopped napping around 3.5 years old as well.
