Our twins go to bed at 6pm and we wake them at 10pm to eat. We are now starting to move it backwards since they are sleeping so hard at 10pm. I feel guilty even waking them. After the 10pm feed, they can sleep until 5 or 6am. I don't want to mess that up but I think we need to start seeing what they can do. Anyone surprised at how well the dropping of that night feeding went?

We just did this a week ago, and the results have been amazing, we were doing a 10:30 dreamfeed and decided to drop it cold turkey. Night #1, DS ate at 6:30, slept from 7p-7:30a amazing!! DD ate at 6:30, slept from 7p-3a, ate, and then slept until we woke her in the a.m. Night #2, DS and DD up at 5:00 to eat and then back down until 8. Night #3 (setback), DS up at 1, DD up at 2 to eat, we then decided to offer DD an extra ounce in each daytime bottle, which she sometimes eats and sometimes doesnt. Nights 4-6, both babies slept 7p-7:30a without eating. Hoping the trend continues!

Good luck, I would suggest maybe trying on a weekend or when DH can be around to help so that if do end up with middle of the night feedings again you can at least take a break or sneak in a nap the next day!

I found cutting out a night feed tough but I also only gave them a night feed if they woke up. I stopped waking mine purposely at about 2 months because one was always sleeping through. It might be easy for you if they are sleeping so hard. Good luck! :hug99:

I would love to do that, we feed them every three hours. than at night allow them to go five hours, than wake them to feed. I was told to not let them go past five hours because it can mess up their brain development. They can sleep through the night, we purposely wake them up. I can't wait to stop.

My boy weighs more than 11 lbs and my girl is more than 9 lbs. We haven't had them weighed since their two month check up.

Check with your pedi, but I don't know why you need to wake them anymore. Mine would natually wake every 4-5 hours at that age/weight, but if they are getting pleny during the day, they don't necessarily need to eat at night (especially if they will sleep through).
