Hello! I am new to this forum. I am 27wks pg with b/g twins. My belly is getting mighty close to the wheel. About 1/2 an inch away. It's getting harder to turn the wheel and get in and out of the car. My car is a stick shift, so I don't think I can move the seat back anymore...I won't be able to push in the clutch. Is it safe to drive with the belly that close? Is anyone else getting close too? Thanks!!

I actually gave up driving at 31 weeks because I couldn't get the clutch to the floor anymore! as long as you wear your seatbelt you should be ok...

I'm still able to drive but I don't have a stick shift. I remember someone mentioning pedal extenders? If you really need to drive, I wonder if they would work for you?

I had to quit driving my chevy blazer around 32 weeks and started driving my husbands avalanche. I drove that till around 36 weeks when I stopped working and stopped driving all together.

:wavey: and Welcome to TS!! :)

I didn't have stick shift, but I had to stop driving once my belly was touching the steering wheel at 30ish weeks. I had to have my coworker come get me and take me home afterwards.

I drove up until the day before I had my twins at over 37 weeks.

I'm still driving at 36 weeks. I've got the seat back as far as I can while still being able to reach the pedals and I have the steering wheel up as high as it goes. I'm only 5 feet, so it's getting hard now. There is about an inch or so between my belly and the wheel. I'm shocked I can still drive. I thought for sure, I wouldn't be able to. Sitting in the car and driving is the easy part. It's the getting in and out and walking that is hard now:)

I am 32 weeks and still driving my stick shift. I don't drive a lot but I have myself sitting very upright and close to the wheel so I can reach the pedals. It is very hard to get out of the car, even when I'm not the one driving!
