We are driving home (which will take 7 hours) from a long summer away. They were a lot younger when we left and slept a lot and didn't move as much as they do now. Do you guys have a suggestions for entertainment, toys, etc. to keep them busy?

    Thank you!

Our "big" trips (to visit my folks) are only 4 hour trips (made into 5 hour trips). We stop and let them run around (like at rest areas where there's lots of grass to run or crawl around in) a couple of times. I have a few noisy toys and then a bunch of little things all in a laundry basket/box that I let them go through. Even just odd things they don't normally play with (a mini flashlight, left over key chains, etc)-lots of little odds and ends from the junk drawer. Then, when they've all ended up on the floor, we start over. We play alot of kids music and I get dizzy playing peek-a-boo in drastic moments. Good luck! My older kids all love the portable dvd with things like "the Wiggles" and "Barney", but the boys haven't gotten into that yet. But if your kids like those shows, that's good entertainment as well.

Yeah, I keep a basket of toys in the car. Especially ones they have not seen for awhile. Also if you have a dvd machine. My sisters car did not come with one so they bought a portable one. Im not sure now much they cost. I keep a Baby Einstein movie in the car and never bring it in the house. We save it only for long trips so when it comes one, they get so excited. We also have their favorite msic cd that puts them in a trance when it comes on. Good Luck
