I cannot for the life of me get my boys to drink only water. The only times I can get them to, is if I dilute juice. Does anyone have these issues??

My guys don't really love water. They will drink it if they're hungry, but not usually. We have a sippy that just kind of "hangs out" all day - they usually drink 1 of those a day between the 2 of them

Mine often prefer water over milk. Maybe it's because we didn't give juice?? Even now it's a rare treat. I don't know really.

Mine also prefer water over juice. I would just keep offering it and not the juice. If they are thirsty enough they will drink it.

Our girls only drink water and milk. They each usually drink about 16oz of milk a day and probably 24-32oz of water a day. We keep a sippy cup of water for each of them out all day and they each usually drink 2 to 3 of them (at least on the weekends). They rarely have juice or any other type of drink. I think we are lucky that they like their milk and water. :)

Colin & Hayden usually drink only 1 sippie each of water a day each it is hard to get them to drink it, they love there milk.. & juice not all the time & still only about 1 sippie of water, i still give it to them every night when i get in. the sitter won't give it to them , "they don't drink it" and thats that....

My girls do like water but I find that they will really drink it if we give it to them from a water bottle like the poland spring bottle. They see us drinking water from it all they time so they want to drink it from there as well. It's a bit messy but at least we get them to drink it (and it's only water so no stains and no stickiness ;) )

Mine drink water. I guess because that's the only option. They get milk at breakfast and after dinner, and that's it. I rarely offer juice, and the times I have, it's a struggle to get them to drink it.

Yes, they like their water a lot. Especially with ice... I've never put anything else in their sippies, though, so it isn't as if they know other kids get juice. They also love their milk but they don't use milk to satisfy their thirst (it's more work and requires sitting still, after all ;) ).

Mine dont really like water .. so i try to make it more interesting for them. They love when i put ice cubes in it ... or i make toothpick and water popsicles. Plus when we go out to eat, I order them a glass of ice water with their meal. They also LOVE to drink from sports bottles, so I keep 2 filled with water in the fridge.

My boys are 22 months and have loved and still love plain water. They get their milk with meals and water in a sippy in the playroom or if we are out for the rest of the day. They will usually go through at least one sippy a day with plain water. They get very little juice or other drinks.

In our house its either water or milk. So they love water.

Mine like water. They actually think its a treat because they normally only get it when we go out in their toss 'n take cups. Since they don't use them every day, they think they're really cool. Since they were in the 20-25% in weight, my pedi suggested no water, just milk, so they usually get milk at meals & snacks. I don't offer juice, so no issues there. Mine LOVE fruit and eat it at every meal, so I figure theres no need for juice.

All three of mine love water. We haven't offered anything but milk or water to our boys (15 months old), and we didn't offer juice to our DD until after she was 2. She went through a short stretch where she wanted juice all the time, so we gave her diluted juice, but now we don't keep it in the house anymore and she's back to milk or water. She doesn't even ask for juice anymore.

Mine drink milk and water only also. I gave them diluted juice once when they were about 6m. Their Pedi tolkd me not to bother with juice since it has no nutritional value to stick with milk and water, that if I never gave it to them they wouldn't know the difference. So they have milk at every meal and snack and water ("their juice") in between, about 3 cups of milk and 2/3 cups of water a day.

    Same here.

Maybe try putting the water in a different cup/sippie.

Mine only get water in their cups (they are still bfing so no whole milk yet). I only drink water as well so if they ask for a sip from my cup they taste the same thing that they are getting. My older son will ask for juice here and there, but he was raised the same way to only get water in his cup as a toddler so he loooooves his water still. If he's really thirsty he knows that water is the best thing to quench it.

Find an opportunity when they have been playing hard and are real thirsty and offer some really cold water to them then. You know what's best for them!

Water or milk is the only option the boys have as well. They drink their water just fine so far. We don't offer juice either.

DS will get highly diluted juice. I use frozen and instead of the usual 3 cans of water added to it, I add more like 8 to make a whole gallon. . That way it has a touch of flavor and he drinks more of it. They get some juice at daycare he is not interested in milk these days so that is our compromise.

Try putting some ice in it! They like it when it rattles around and makes it extra fun!!!

Im actually thinking of just going cold turkey with the juice...letting them have it in moderation ONLY in small juice box on occasion. I did that with the bottles and they did ok...a few tantrums, but nothing I cant handle. I just have been giving them WAY to much juice..and I am worried about weight (even though they are fine there) and cavities (even though I brush thier teeth).

I dilute it ever time with water, just so they can GET some water...They do like ice, so I have been doing that.

They get tantrums if its milk and not juice, but I let them take it or leave it, and I never give in to that.

WHat do you guys think about cold turkey??
