At what age were the twins (or other babies) when you stopped using it?

I probably used it until they were around 1yr., but could have stopped using it before then, I just had an industrial size that Grandma bought that needed to be finished up.

I have never used Dreft. Dad has really sensitive skin so we use Seventh Generation unscented and it works great for the whole family (plus biodegradable so that's an added plus).

I think I only used it for the first 2 months. ( I know I'm a bad mom :)) I figured they didnt appear to have any allergies to the detergent I used on the rest of the families clothes, since they were always laying on someones shoulder or laying on my bed. I just started adding their clothes in with ours.

We always use ALL Baby (much cheaper!) and I was thinking about just switching to ALL Free and Clear.

We never used it. I never understood what the big deal about Dreft was, other than that they market it to parents of newborns and charge more money for it. We used Kirkland (Costco brand) Free, and still do.

I just finished the last of mine - but ONLY because I received a huge jug of it and had to finish it. I have since used just ALL free - but after I use this up I'm going to try regular Tide Spring. I absolutley love the smell of fresh clean laundry and miss it and feel my girls are old enough. If they do have any reaction - I'll just go back to the dye / perfume free stuff. Dreft does smell good and like babies though! It's just so dang expensive!

I actually still use Baby All now and mine are 19 months. I was just trying to remember when I stopped using a separate detergent for my oldest DD's clothes, but I can't remember.

The only time I used dreft with any of my kids was for my DD (now 5). That was only because a friend of my mother's gave me two cases of it for a shower gift. It lasted until she was well past age one :) I am using All Free and Clear now and the girls are doing fine on it.

Oh heck, I never used it. We use Kirkland Free (Costco) for the whole family and it seems to work just fine. I compared the ingredients in Dreft to Kirkland Free and they look pretty much the same. Plus, the pediatrician told me that as long as the detergent is dye and perfume free, that's all you need. I still wash the baby stuff separate from the rest of our laundry, but will probably give that up fairly soon.

With the twins we quit using after the first bottle was gone. We then switched to tide free & watched everybodys together. We found out the hard way that cody is allergic to laundry soap. We now wash all our clothes in Dreft. Maybe after this is gone I will try "free" detergent again.

I just stopped using it and they havn't had any reactions at all. It is so expensive so we tried a different brand and it didn't even seem to clean their clothes so I finally just used our stuff and their stuff smells so much fresher and stains come out and it doesn't seem to bother them at all so hopefully we won't have to buy it anymore.

We stopped at 6 months. I would have stopped sooner, but we had an enormous container to finish. We haven't had any adverse reactions and I am just using Gain or Wisk (whichever is cheapest.)

I used it the first 3 months but wish I had never bothered wasting the money. My ped said it wasn't necessary and that any unscented, colorless detergent (like Clear All) was fine. It's pretty much a scam to get you to spend a rediculous amount of money on "baby" detergent. It's such a rip off!!

We mainly use the "free" detergents and only on occassion, if someone else buys us the Dreft, do we use it.

It seems like I'm the odd man out! I've been washing all our laundry in dreft since the babies came home from the hospital. I have sensitive skin and it seems to work better for me too! I always use coupons and then go to BJ's and get the big container. I used to use Tide Free pre-babies, but I still had reactions to it. Maybe I'll try All free and see if that works better.. I'm going to BJ's tomorrow so if there is a huge price difference, it might be worth it.

We bought one bottle of Dreft and used it until it was gone. (About 6 weeks.) Now we use regular Tide for all our clothes. If you're thinking about switching, just wash a few pieces of the twins' clothes in regular detergent and see if they have a reaction to it. We did that, and since the babies were fine, we've been washing all the clothes together.

I've used the same detergent that the rest of the family uses since they were born. (All Free & Clear) I did separate their clothes at first because I didn't want to use fabric softener on their clothes. I stopped by the time they were 6 months.

I think Dreft is a good detergent, I just don't think it's a necessity like their marketing team would like you to think. Very few babies actually have sensitive enough skin to require it. There are also cheaper and just as effective alternatives.

I still use it on the twins clothes, only because I wash all the kids clothes together. I have washed all of their clothes in Tide as well and didn't have a problem (including the baby).

I am still using it and mainly because i like that it has smell to it. I have well water and so i like having a little fragrance. I use coupons and have only bought one bottle (this past weekend) i had enough from the shower to last me till now. I will use the free and clear ALL Mighty soon i am sure... Or may just try what i use and see if it causes any issues. We dont have sensative skin so i am not too worried. I wash all baby clothes together, all DH and i clothes together and all the older kids together... and always will...
