Our boys have a bottle at 7:00 and then they wake at 11:00pm and that is their last feeding (if it was a perfect world!!!!). So we do change their diaper at the 11:00 feeding. Otherwise, they would wake in the very early morning and be wet. It has happenend a few times. However, we recently have been using the overnight huggies so those might prevent leakage but i am not willing to risk going from 7:00pm to 6:00am when they wake. I would not want them to wake because they are wet.

Thanks! Now, another question...do you wake them to feed them at 11pm? We have been doing that and it seems to work...until 4am [IMG]I am home alone all weekend and usually do not do the dreamfeed...ahhhhhh

I think that is great that you babies are going from 11-4 (you can tell what our boys were doing at 3 months!). At that point, so much was trial and error and survival. At 3 months our boys were in carseats sleeping and waking often during the night so i am not going to even attempt to offer advice in the dreamfeed area at that age. I could answer the diaper question but I know someone will give good advice on this specific question!!!

For our boys now, a pattern has developed where one may wake at 11:00 and the other at 11:30. So, yes, we have been getting the sleeping one up so we could feed them both and then know we are good until the early morning.

When you are home alone, can you dreamfeed one at a time. If your babies are sleepy and barely wake during that feed, maybe it would be worth feeding them both one after another. Feeding together would probably wake them to much and they may not fall right back to sleep, right??

I read bits and pieces of the baby whisperer and she believes in dreamfeeding at 3 months

Nope, we did not change diapers for a dreamfeed. We would get them up before going to bed ourselves, feed them without technically waking them up, and put them right back down.

I don't change diapers at 11 when I dreamfeed them unless it smells like they've pooped. If I do it is not always easy for them to go back to sleep. They barely wake up when I feed them and their diapers seem to do the job till the am. Some days they dindn't and they would wake up a mess with leaking diapers but that was just because we should have changed diaper size and didn't do it soon enough.

When they were little (the age of yours) we did not change diapers and we tried to keep them asleep when dreamfeeding. However, as they got older they started waking once we picked them up to dreamfeed and we would change diapers because their diapers were so full in the morning if not. We also decided that if they woke on their own then we would change them. We did not continue dreamfeeding for much longer after this (around 5 months) because it just didn't seem as effective with them waking and we wanted to see how long they could go on their own. It was about 3 weeks later that they started sleeping through the night. YIPPIE! Good luck.
