I am new to this dream feed thing but willing to give it a try. My husband has tried it twice with one of the boys, with no success. He still wakes at the same time as he did w/o it...maybe we got an extra hour. How exactly do you do it? Do you even take them out of the crib? Do you burp them?

    How old are they?

Mine dropped the 1-2 am bottle on their own. I used to feed them around 7-8 pm to see if that would be the last bottle (they usually take one at around 4 pm or 5) but they still wanted the 10-11 pm...so I was just given them an extra bottle (and they do not need the extra calories!)

Both of mine wake up (lately I wait for one to wake up...) dd even holds her own bottle...then burps her and she goes right down. DS takes
a little longer.. if he is in a deep sleep is hard to get him to drink it..so I wake him up a little. I do on on the bed with a pillow so that
    they are a bit elevated.

My Lo's last bottle is around 5:30. I dreamfeed at 9:30 -10:00 before I go to bed. They do not wake up for this. I take them out of the crib, put them in their boppies on the floor and keep the room dark. I do not talk to them, I keep contact to as minimal as possible. I do change their diapers into night diapers because now they STTN. I do not burp them. I have read that if they stay asleep they don't need to be burped. When they are done eating I may leave them to sit for a few minutes and then I put them back in their cribs. When I first started the dreamfeed my DD still woke up for another feeding sometimes two. I gave it a week or so and eventually she dropped them. I noticed she was only taking 1-2 oz during those feedings, so I stopped going to her and she stopped waking up. Once she STTN my pedi said as long as they are getting their oz. per day, they didnt need to be fed at night. I was also stretching their feedings during the day, so they were down to 5-6 bottles. Now they only do 5.

    GL!!

Yes we took them out of their cribs, we fed them, burped them and then layed them back to sleep. Mine were much older though when we started doing- dream-fed between 6 and 8 months when they started sleeping through and taking more in each bottle during the day.

Basically I would pick one up, check diaper (yup I even changed them sometimes), feed her in a dark room, put her up on my shoulder and rub her back until she burped, lay her down and then repeat with the second DD (or if DH was home he'd feed the other in our bedroom while I fed one in the nursery).

we did it last night, one woke at the usual time of 1a and again at 4a. The other only at 4a. Then both slept till 7a. We did the dream feed at 10p. So, I guess I will continue for another week or so and hope they get the idea!!
    Thanks for all your help.

We never managed to do one of those - they don't eat when sleeping... We woke them up a couple times before we went to bed but it didn't change anything so we just gave up on it. Good luck!
