I know it's a little early for us to begin potty training right now, but I figured I might as well start doing some research. I've heard about a potty training method recommended by Dr. Phil. Here is his method. Has anyone had any experience with this? TIA!

Honestly? I think it's too parent involved. We just finished potty training my just turned 3 yr old and it's all on him. He learned through accidents. I'd ask him at intervals during the day and there were several times a day that were "potty time". After a few days of LOTS of clothing changes, he started to understand when he needed to go. We did make it a big deal when he went. That's also why I've waited til almost three with all my kids. I'll do the same with the twins. I usually try sometime after two and half but if it's not going well, I wait. It goes so easily when you wait til they can really understand.

I think it is just too much work for my liking.

It would be a fight to get my girls to go on the potty 10 times! That would be total frustration for all of us!

Somehow I think Dr. Phil didn't potty train his own kids...my guess is his wife did....I would be interested to see what she has to say, not so much him.
It sounds like a very frustrating day...one I am not willing to take on right now! I promise my kids will not go to college in diapers! I will do it eventually!

Sounds like "on becoming potty wise" to me..... at least those are the steps! (they have salty snacks involved that make them thirsty to drink more).

Well, Casey has had FIVE accidents in the first 3hrs of being out of bed today (Day 1). That would be FIFTY times of getting on and off of the potty in the first 3hrs alone! She'd be scratching my eyes out and I'd be pulling my hair out. Then I'd be bald and blind. ;) I can't imagine with one, yet alone two!
