Melanie, your post about things you said you'd never do inspired me... after another night of watching them toss their lima beans on the floor I said to myself, "if Arwen and Lorien can do it, my kids better be able to do it, too!" So I plopped them out of the highchairs, onto the floor, and made them hand me every gosh darn bean... and they did it! I never thought they could comprehend well enough to help clean up floor messes, but they did, and I think they even liked it, the wierd little terds! They didn't eat what they picked up, though, thankfully ;)

Congrats -- now just watch out that they don't decide it's so much fun to pick up the beans, they want to throw them on the floor even more. :D

That's great - I would try to get them to clean it everything up but for some reason all the food they refuse to eat off their tray becomes magically yummy once it hits the floor.

Sometimes I clean up before I let them out of their chairs, but days like today I say go for it!

I wish I had read this earlier in the day. We had a tremendous mess after dinner tonight and I'd have loved their help. But tomorrow is another day (of tossed food)!

Yep, this is how it is at my house too. :D

    Good for you though Melissa!

Sean is like that. Maybe the floor has a tasty flavor? I'm not willing to lick the floor and find out however. Oh, wait, they like free range lima beans. :blbl: That's it.
