Double Jogging Strollers

It's Spring (by the calender, if not the weatherman) and the girls are old enough to run with! I have high hopes! So, I'm trying to figure out what jogger to buy. I know everyone loves the BOB Duallie, but I'm wondering if there are other, less expensive options that are also good. I foresee both my husband (6'2") and I (5'6") using this stroller, so it probably needs to have a handle adjustment. We'd either be running on the street or walking on hiking trails, but probably not jogging through the woods. I'd love to hear from those of you who love OR hate your jogger!

 

Well, we have a Mountain Buggy Urban Double and we love it, but it's comparable to the Bob in terms of price (may even be more -- we bought it used). The handle on ours is not adjustable, but on the newer versions I think it is. However, it's probably not the best for actual running because it has two swivel wheels in front rather than one big fixed one.

So that's probably not what you're looking for at all :lol: -- but hopefully the info is useful for comparison!

 

I just ordered the InStep Safari TT from ebay and I can't wait for it to get here!! I think you need something with a swivel option on the wheel and you really won't have to have the BOB! I understand their appeal, but not new for me!! YIKES!!

I'll have to let you know when I get it, but everyone who had it here told me to buy it! We'll see! My Combi is getting trashed taking walks etc. with it!

 

I have the Instep 10K Ultimate. I went with a fixed front wheel and big rubber tires because I'm walking on rough terrain most of the time with it. For my purposes, it's a great stroller. It's light and has held up well. Of course, there is no handle adjustment (we didn't need one) but the price was right. I'm sure BOB is great but I couldn't justify the cost... I'm not running any marathons

 

I have the Dreamer Design Double & it's fabulous! I'm 5'8" & dh is 6'3"- perfect fit for both of us. Actually, I got mine at more than 1/2 off on craigslist.org. The original owner even had every accessory. I was choosing between the BOB double & Dreamer & this one came up on craislist.

I have the Schwinn version of the InStep Safari Diane mentioned and love it! I found it online with free shipping and it was here within a matter of days. It has the swivel front wheel which I think is a must.

I bought the same stroller last summer and LOVE it!!! The only downside is that it's BIG!!! i don't know if it would fit in a sedan trunk or not. We have an extended mini-van and we can sit it upright in there as long as we turn the wheel. Our other car is a Pontiac Vibe and it does not fit in the back of that. So, it's definitely NOT a compact stroller.

Durability wise it is great....each seat reclines individually, it's got a sun shade (I bought a bigger one to attach on at WalMart) and it glides like it's on a sheet of ice. It's so smooth and handles very easily.

I believe I paid around $200 for it at www.babyage.com. Shipping was free!
