My girls LOVE Dora!!! We have those "on demand" channels and they always ask to watch it at least once, usuallyu twice a day. So, usually I pop it on while I'm making lunch or feeding the baby, etc.

Well, I think I need to pay more attention. Morgan (espeically) is always using the spanish words. Yesterday, we were heading out to the park and apparently I was taking to much time getting the diaper bag and baby ready to head out. The girls were all ready to go and standing at the garage door. Morgan says, "Vamanos Mommy, let's go!" I about died laughing! It was too cute! Luckily I knew what that one was :)

THey can both count to 10 in spanish thanks to Dora...it's too cute!

But, they will also walk around saying the Spanish words for up, down, jump, etc...all those they use on Dora...I get them confused with which word means what!

I know! They really should put the words on the screen, so we can see and understand what they are saying. My kids run around putting themselves in precarious situations and yelling (sp?) Ajudimay (that's how it sounds!). Help! Help! TOO CUTE!

    Cept it's written ayudame with a y. ;)

If you have any on DVD why not try switching the language after they have seen the episode many times. It will be mostly in Spanish with English words sprinkled in instead of Spanish words sprinkled in?

My cousin has her preschoolers in a Spanish preschool. We did exactly this with Sesame Street when I was up visiting. There were subtitles, but it was kind of fun bc my level of Spanish is about that of her 4 yr old. Pretty funny seeing Oscar speaking Spanish.

Mine do the same thing thanks to Diego. My DD thinks she is Alicia, his sister. She even goes around telling people that is her name. LOL.

It's great to see how they can pick on two languages so quickly - english and spanish.

My oldest has the Dora Leapster game. Yesterday she told me she was off to find all of the teacups "rosado" (pink)! As a former Spanish teacher, I was very proud ;).

My girls throw a lot of Dora & Diego spanish into their play as well. It's too cute! My favorite is when they're shouting,"Ayudame!", just like Diane's little ones. They're also constantly pretending to be Dora, Diego, Alicia, or Boots.

THANK YOU!!! I didn't know what that meant (I too am usually using Dora and Diego as a chance to make lunch or some other chore). My twins use all sorts of spanish words that I've been able to figure out, but this one had me stumped....till now!!
