so i spent three hours in L&D last night because i guess i am just paranoid. i noticed yesterday morning that i hadnt felt either baby move yet, but they normally arent as active in the am. so i got off work at noon and went home and layed down. i napped for awhile and got back up and went downstairs...still nothing at all. finally at 5:30 i called my OB and he told me to go ahead and go in to L&D. We got there and they strapped two monitors around my belly to pick up the heartbeats, but they were only picking up one, so they called in a US tech who took about 30 minutes to get there. When she started the US, both babies were moving like crazy!! i started feeling them moving around but not nearly as much as they actually were! the reason they couldnt pick up both heartbeats is because they were both the exact same...so everything is fine and i feel really dumb

Please don't feel dumb, you did the right thing as did the medical staff. Peace of mind is everything. If you feel decreased movement again (not sure if you did this), before you lay down drink a sugary drink and/or snack. That will usually get them going.

    Glad all is well!

I agree!!! It made you feel better to see and hear your babies so it was well worth going in!!! Do not feel dumb its hard when you are pregnant not to worry. You cant see whats going on in there.
You are the advocate for your babies health if you feel something isnt right go get checked.

I agree!!! No feeling dumb. I have been to L&D once for it, and had the same thing where they could only get one....my midwife ended up coming (thank goodness) to do the u/s cause she was afraid that it was going to be bad. Here, Baby A was super low and they didn't put the monitors low enough. The reassurance was nice though. I have been into the office several times for movement and had an early NST done last Monday b/c of it.

    You did the right thing!!

You can never be too secure with the safety of your babies!! I went a few hours of laying down without feeling them move too, so I know the fear. Usually I drink some coffee or something caffineated, that gets them moving.....if they don't afterr that, then I would get worried....but don't feel dumb!!

Don't feel dumb. You'd feel dumb if you went against your instict and didn't go in and there really was something wrong.

I was right about where you are and I did the same exact thing. As soon as they hooked me up to the monitors they started moving like crazy. Mine had switched postitions so I wasn't feeling them in the same as I had been. Don't worry in a few more weeks that won't happen anymore, you will feel them ALL THE TIME!

You did the right thing! Always better safe than sorry! Great idea to have a sugary drink when that happens. I am going to remember that one for when I am at that stage in my pregnancy. I would have done the exact same think you did!

Don't ever feel dumb about stuff like this! Follow your instinc, if you think there is something "not normal", better safe than sorry!. I was the same way and remember constantly worrying about lack of movement and such!

I'm glad everything is OK! :hug99:
