Don't fix it if it ain't broke?

My ILs gave us money last year (for the girls' b'day/Christmas present) to buy Stokke Tripp Trapp chairs (the new version of what used to be the Kinderzeat). Everyone who has them seems to love them, and you can start using them as early as 12-18 months. But Amy & Sarah still really like their booster seats, and in fact are really attached to them. Plus, they are pretty messy eaters and I can't quite imagine them eating right off the table.

Will I be missing the window of opportunity if I wait till they're older? Or is it better to stick with what's working, and not switch until they start getting antsy in their boosters?

We are planning to switch at 2.5 at the latest, so we can hand the boosters down to SIL's twins, who will be 6 months old then. :)

I agree with you...why jump the gun if what you have is working. There will come a time (probably by 2.5 anyway) that the girls simply won't fit into the boosters anymore. You could also ease them into it by using the booster at the table instead of with the trays...my sister does that with her 16 mo old.

I think we may have to transition from high chairs to boosters. Nick has started standing up and climbing on top of his high chair tray. He's quite the Hoodini, even with the straps on. However, the feeding boosters we have (which up 'till now have been used only while traveling/visiting) are snug enough that he doesn't have the room to stand up.

Honestly, I would just stick with the boosters. You have the kind that strap right on to the chairs, right? We have those, and I figure when they are ready to eat without trays, I'll just take the trays off and pull them up to the table. I can't see bothering with buying a different kind of high chair at this stage.

I am one of those if it ain't broke don't fix it... and if you can believe this we are still in the high chairs! I keep meaning to switch to boosters, but they don't mind the high chairs so I have never done it!!
