I'd like to get my daughter a dollhouse for her 2nd birthday. Anyone have any recommendations? I have been trying to track down Dora's Talking House (as my daughter (and son)) love it when the therapist brings it over. I have also seen Fischer-Price "My First Dollhouse" - anyone have other suggestions?

Also, what are some of your 2 yr old son's favorite toys?

What other toys does your 2yr old daughter like?

    :)
    thx

For my twin boys I had everyone (grandmas & aunts) contribute peices to a train set for their 2nd birthday. My boys love trains!! After doing some research I got a Geotrax and I love it and so do they! My older kids like it too!

Tonka trucks are another winner. Our dump truck carries everything from toys, sand, to our cat! Any car is great.

Potato heads are another classic toy unisex toy!

The My First Dollhouse is very cute and has a lot of options! Good choice! Never used the Dora dollhouse though.

My kids like trains A LOT. GeoTrax, Thomas the Tank Engine and all the track and accessories, also LEGO Thomas.

I don't know if it's really a doll house, but Fisher Price has a Little People Busy Day Home that's very cute!!

I think ds's favorite toys right now would probably be balls. Any kind of ball, he just loves them. We were at a friend's house & they had a Little Tykes basketball hoop that he just went nuts over.

DD is totally into her babies right now. I found her a little wooden cradle for her birthday & sewed some little baby sized blankets. She's got the doll bottles & I saved a couple of their preemie diapers......she loves her babies!

Other favorites for both of them would be:

    Mellissa & Doug wooden puzzles
    play kitchen/cooking things
    books
    playdough

I would actually recommend that you get something different from the therapist if you are going to continue therapy. That way they have something different to look forward to. Also, they might tire of the "character" house before a non-character house. You might have a kid playing with a regular doll house when they are 5-8 but maybe not the Dora one.

That being said, don't put TOO MUCH WEIGHT in my words. We don't have one! :D
