well I decided today (after buying yet another pack of Pull Ups) that I'm just done...Ian is just lazy and won't PT unless I push him to do it...so I put him in underwear today (nothing else as its warm enough for that...so he peed his pants 3 times - made him clean it up all 3 times...he started crying for a diaper and we ran him to the bathroom and sat him on the potty - he dribbled but it was a pee pee!!! so Tony went to get him a gumdrop (reward) and when Tony got back in the bathroom Ian had lifted the seat and was standing there peeing!!! :yahoo:

of course he then peed his pants at K-mart and at my mothers but I'm not looking back - I'm just not going to!

we took him and let him pick out new underwear and took him for ice cream....he'll go to school tomorrow with more underwear and shorts than he knows what to do with but I'm not backing down!

Good luck Amy! :good: I've always PTed my kids with just wearing underwear! WTG for Ian peeing in the potty today, that is one step forward!!

WTG Ian! Sometimes I think it just takes that first success for it all to click!

not too well...he's peed on the potty twice - and in his pants every other time! we keep taking him to the potty and he just can't focus long enough to pee...he finally peed last night after a half hour!

I'm not giving up - although the kids are going to my moms today and with my dad there he won't "tolerate" accidents so he may wind up in a pull up anyway...

I will tell you that my DH did literally make him sit on the potty every morning until he peed. Or if we knew he had to pee (holding himself, etc) we would make him sit there until he peed. That lasted two days. Since then he has been happy to go and told us almost every time (I did catch him holding himself a couple of times and asked him if he needed to go). The first two days he spent about an hour on the potty in the mornings before he peed. It wasn't pleasant and there were a lot of tears, but he is thrilled to be a "big boy" now.

I did the same thing Stacy! I had to basically hold Alex hostage on the potty until he would go. And when he finally did, he was THRILLED! But it was 1/2 an hour of tears, running in place, and begging for a diaper until he would. By day 4 of this, he finally realized that going on the potty was not the most terrifying thing on the planet after all.

    Hang in there Amy!!

I think I've got his "number" - an hour and a half...if I actually take him into the bathroom every hour and a half he will pee - if I wait until an hour and 35 minutes instead of telling me he has to go he'll just go in his pants...

oh and the cutest thing is him standing on his tip toes with his winky and nads thrown over the side of the potty going pee - he won't sit!
