My DD's will be 11 months old tomorrow and they hate juice! They refuse to take it. I have tried warming it, in a bottle, in a sippy cup, nothing. I have tried giving them juice since they were 7 months old and they still hate it. Any ideas on what will get them to take it?

My daughters hate it too. I am anxious to see what you find out! They act like it is poison and they need it for constipation.

Don't force it. They'll get there eventually and then start asking for it. I only give watered down juice when there is illness and then on rare occasions. There is NO food value in juice and mine eat a lot of fruit, so there's really no need for it.

    Don't worry! They will eventually!!

Like pp said I wouldn't force. Mine never started drinking it till they were around 18 months and even then sometimes they say no and still prefer milk or water.

Mine don't like it either, even watered down. I'm actually happy, though.....they really don't need juice if they're getting fruits.

Zoe has bad problems with constipation, too, and I've found that pears work the best for her. I mix it with a little bit of oatmeal every morning & she's fine.

Thanks! I dont force them to take it, just wish they would so when we were in public, I could give them juice. They wont take formula unless it is warmed (very warm) so it would just be something easy to give them when we are out and about. They do get alot of fruit during the day. They usually get an apple or banana in those net things that they can hold and chew, and then they each eat 1 jar of fruit for lunch, and 1 jar mixed with rice cereal at nite.

Another question...How did you get your kids to eat veggies? I made the mistake of trying fruit before veggies and now they refuse to eat it. They will take 3 bites and then spit it out and refuse to open their mouths for another bite...

I don't give them juice unless they are having a constipation issue. Then I just mix about 2 teaspoons into their formula bottle. Juice doesn't really have a lot of nutritional value for little ones.

Just kind of trial & error. You might try some of the sweeter veggies, like sweet peas. Mine love peas! I think carrots are pretty sweet, too. If they eat cereal, you could try mixing a little in the cereal & gradually increase it as they get more used to the flavor.

Well, if they never like it, don't sweat it. My oldest still doesn't drink it. He will take a juice box at a friend's house but he prefers milk (whole I might add). He does like OJ, you could try that. It is bad for their teeth too. You could try little juiceboxes, because sometimes they really like the little straw [IMG]

Figures the day I post that they wont eat veggies, then finish a jar of Turkey veggie mix...Kids, they are so unpredictible!

I have tried carrots, sweet peas, sweet potatoes, butternut squash & corn, brown rice, winter squash...wont eat it! They love any and all fruit, will it hurt them to just eat fruit?

Yeah ours don't like juice either. The doctor said not to worry about as the juice is just empty calories. They drink a lot of milk and eat veggies and fruits during the day so we just don't force it.

On the no veggies thing. Mine don't really care for them either, but I sneak them in. I alternate veggie bites with fruit or cereal, or mix them up. They will tolerate most this way.

Have you tried finger veggies like well cooked carrots or sweet potato?
